[one month earlier]
Abigail and JJ eventually fell asleep. It was the first time in nearly three days that both teens actually slept. Until Gram and MJ woke up and found them on the couch together.
Abigail stirred when she heard her name being called. When she opened her eyes, Gram and MJ were standing over them, arms crossed. Abigail shoves JJ's shoulder to wake him up.
"We've got a lot to talk about, kids." MJ said, shaking his head and walking away. Abigail sat up, rubbing her face.
"Kids?" Abigail mumbled, turning to Gram.
"Yeah, both of you. So, up and at 'em." She said, walking away from the couch.
Abby turns her head to JJ, who looks utterly confused. Abigail sighs, standing from the couch, JJ hesitates before mirroring her actions. Abigail wraps her arms around herself as she walks towards the table, where MJ and Gram are sitting. They're drinking coffee, waiting for the two teens to join them.
So, Abigail takes the seat across from MJ, her grandmother sitting at the head. JJ takes the seat next to Abby, his shoulders tense.
No one speaks for a whole minute, the time passing slower than it should, making both teens more anxious than they need to be.
MJ clears his throat, turning to Gram, as if that was a signal for her to start. So, she does. "We need to know what's going on."
Abigail turns to JJ, the two sharing a look of uncertainty. Abigail turns back to her grandmother and shrugs. "Not sure what you mean by that."
Gram scoffs. "Seriously, Abigail. Come on."
MJ shakes his head, leaning forward in his seat. "We're not gonna get anywhere if you don't start talking."
