[present day]
Abigail felt like she was walking forever, but she finally made it to the Detention Center. She sees JJ's bike before she's even standing outside the building.
She stops in front of the bike, stopping to text Kiara and Pope that she found him. Right as she presses send, she hears an alarm buzzing, and turns her attention to the front of the building.
She stops in her tracks when she sees Plumb escorting JJ out, one hand on his arm.
"I just have one question before I leave." She hears JJ say, the blonde turning his head to the officer. "How much are you splitting with Shoupe?"
Then, Plumb's shoving the boy away, stumbling down a few steps, and Abigail's jaw drops. JJ braces his hands on the ledge, before he slowly turns to face her.
"You'll be back here one day. It's in your blood." Plumb says, coldly.
Abigail clenches her jaw, wishing she could slap the satisfied smirk right off Plumbs face, but that would only land herself behind bars.
JJ runs a hand through his hair, before pulling the hat onto his head and walking down the stairs. He stops at the bottom of the steps, not seeing Abigail yet, as his gaze on the ground. She doesn't need to see his eyes to know that Plumb's harsh words are already effecting him. Abby watches as he clenches his jaw, before bringing his lips into his mouth and lifting his gaze up.
She sees the moment his eyes land on her, and a sigh falls from his lips. He walks towards his bike. "What're you doing here, Abby?" He asks, walking right past her to his bike.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." She asked, turning to face him. She follows him towards his bike, as he tosses his leg over it, his eyes not meeting hers. "Can you talk to me, please?"
