I found out about Mavis and her true identity the night before she discovered me with the assistant director. The name "Loman" had rung a bell the moment I heard it, and I've been secretly investigating it since then.

Two years ago, a man by the name of Marcus Loman was shot dead at his own party by an unknown suspect according to the news. It just so happened that his daughter disappeared from the public soon after.

From then, I put two and two together.

I got exactly the reaction I wanted when I revealed what I knew. Mavis was seemingly emotionless, but the moment I brought up the truth, that little act of hers went away completely, and I saw who she truly was. While she was afraid of me, I knew that she could most likely kill me.

But I wasn't going to let her think that.

At the meeting, Hirai mentioned that there were two people that could help us. I have no idea about who they are, but I'm sure Mavis is very familiar with them. Now, we are waiting for them at a restaurant to discuss what our plans will be for the infiltration of the Alferink warehouse and office.

I pick up my glass of water. "Mr. Hirai told me that we would be meeting two of his 'most trusted subordinates.' But you haven't told me who they are." I peer at Mavis, who's sitting patiently.

Mavis flicks her hair back before leaning up against the table and facing me. "Their names are Sage and Finn. It's best to be careful with them."

"Why's that?" I say, thinking that her warning is a bit vague.

She raises her eyebrows and rests her chin on the back of her hand. "Sage is sly, and a smooth talker. He can get the information he needs out of a person with a few quick tricks like that." –she snaps her fingers– "Finn is quiet and sits back to let Sage do the talking."

"Why aren't we just meeting Sage then?" To me, Finn sounds a bit useless.

"I was just getting there. Finn is the incredibly talented hacker Dawson mentioned. We need him in our investigation of Alferink." Mavis reaches for her water. "I'd still be cautious of him though; he can be scary when provoked." She shudders like she's experienced it firsthand.
