"AGAINST GOOD MORALS."
Saturday, September 9th
It's just Eros and I in his apartment.
This time we're meeting for work related things. These past few weeks we've been so focused on the case that I had almost completely forgotten my job. I'm only visiting to deliver documents to him, and as of right now, he's just sitting on the couch in his office.
"Where would you like them?" I ask, holding the documents by my side.
Eros has his eyes focused on the laptop in front of him. He barely spares me a glance when he says, "Set them on the desk."
I nod and saunter over to the desk, placing them down in the center. I then quickly turn around to leave.
"Stay for a moment, Mavis." Eros stops me with his words.
I pause and glance back at him. "Is there something else you need?"
Without a word, Eros sets his laptop on the coffee table so that he can stand up. He walks over to me with both hands in his pockets.
"What is it?" I raise my eyebrows at his sudden actions.
"Are you seeing anyone Mavis?" His question is so blunt that I'm taken aback.
I scoff. "When would I have time to see someone when I'm busy working for you and the Vipers?"
Eros nods, cracking a smile. "Good point."
"Why do you ask?" I inquire.
The man in front of me begins to make his move. He steps closer to me, to which I, of course, back up to distance us. However, he has no intention of stopping until the back of my thighs are against his desk.
"Since you won't have time to see anyone else, what do you think of me?" he asks as if it's some business transaction.
I laugh nervously at his undoubtedly bold question. "Come on now." I put my hands on the desk, bracing myself.
Eros does nothing but stare at me. His gaze is enticing, making me gulp.
"You're serious?" I furrow my brows at him.
"Of course." He gives me an innocent smile, perfectly masking his psychotic nature.
"Look, I appreciate the offer," I try to move past him, but his head tilts in the direction of where I try to go. "But I don't date murderers. And you and I, are practically strangers," I say, pointing to him and then myself.
The smile on his face fades, and instantly I can tell that he doesn't like my answer. Then, he just holds out his hand in front of me.
"Now what?" I ask, becoming irritated.
