The door at the station opened, and two persons went into the building, completely covered. It was tenth of november, the day before the first anniversary of the Mechanical Revolution. The weather started to mirror that of a twelve months prior because the temperature dropped unexpectedly and instead of rain, snow fell.

- Holy shit, it's cold as fuck... - Hank hissed, rubbing his thickened hands. He looked up at Connor who was wiping off the powder from hair. There was something wrong with his appearance, he was watching him for a while before he noticed what it was.

- Where's your damn LED? - he asked, frowning.

- My LED? Oh, I got rid of it. - he answered, shrugging, apparently without much emotion – Are we getting to work?

Lieutenant didn't bring up the subject again, but he had a feeling there was something wrong. The boy was a little off and Anderson didn't know how to handle that. He found him again am morning when he was sitting over the files of the case. The man's friend was more and more withdrawn, spending all of his free time analyzing and working, he saw it.

Meanwhile, the station buzzed with casual activity. Everyone ran somewhere, or minded their businesses.

- Good morning, Lieutenant. Good morning, Detective. - a shy voice said behind them. They turned around. Chloe stood there. She looked different than she did the day before. Her bright hair was loosely pinned atop her head, and she wore denim jeans paired with a big, stretched sweater in a pastel shade of blue instead of a dress - I wanted to thank you gentlemen for letting me stay overnight. I found a flat for rent, not too far from here. Officer Miller picked up my things in the morning, at the request of the receptionist. There weren't many of them, so by tomorrow at the latest, I will move to the new place.

- You're welcome. - Hank replied and gave her a gentle smile, while Connor said nothing. He had been anxious since yesterday, but in that specific moment, his attention was captured by a golden strand of hair slipping out of a ponytail and falling onto the girl's eyes. It distracted him. Shook his head in irritation. Small things like that couldn't distract him.

- Maybe before we start working, would you like a coffee, Lieutenant? - she offered politely, disregarding the android's silence.

A smile, definitely wider and more attractive, bloomed on the man's face.

- You even asking, girl? You're an angel!

Chloe replied to the smile.

- I'll come to your desk in a while. - she said, and then she headed towards the breaking room where was a coffeemaker. There were a few people inside, including a man and a woman who looked like they were arguing with each other, but she didn't pay too much attention to that. She stood backwards and grabbed a cup.

A drawn-out whistle rang out behind her back. She took a look over her shoulder. The man wearing a brown jacket stoop up from the chair. She scanned his face quickly.

- Good morning, I'm Chloe. - she greeted politely and turned around again, only to feel the policeman's presence right behind her back.

- Tell me, how it is that... - he started, crookedly smiling, placing his hand on her shoulder - That all the plastic dolls are so sexy?

The woman he had been talking to heard a hissing sound when he took a breath. Apparently, he did it maliciously to make her sad.
