Scars To Your Beautiful - Alessia Cara

Connor spent the entire night in his room, trying to overthing what had happened in the Trembley's club, but he really didn't have any conclusions that made sense.

It was really early in the morning, there was silence in the house. Hank had already fallen asleep long time ago, Chloe, who had stayed overnight also stopped wandering around a few hours ago. The boy, after he had noticed an unexpected charm in her the day before, really wanted to see her again in familiar shape - wearing jeans and a sweater, because the other Chloe was intimidating and overwhelming for him.

He stood up from the bed, and carefully went out to the corridor, then moved to the living room, and then to the kitchen. Only while passing by the sofa, he noticed that there was a girl laying on it. She was sleeping with her hand under her head, dressed as usual, with her hair tied up in a ponytail, but that view didn't make him feel relieved. It was quite the opposite because the first thing that hit him upon seeing her was exactly how pretty she was, and it surprised him that he hadn't noticed that before.

The beauty, noticed the day before, now, with no evening dress, or make-up, seemed obvious to him. It wasn't covered by anything, and it hit him like a log splitter, making him more scared.

He kind of felt like all of his systems had experienced a sudden short circuit and sent conflicting signals to his mind, so he just stood and looked at her helplessly until the moment when the blue eyes unexpectedly opened, and looked directly at him.

- Connor? - Chloe asked, smiling insecurity - What are you doing?

He was silent for a moment, feeling like another feeling entered into the explosive mix of emotions, this time it, was a one he could identify.
Embarrassment.

- I... I don't know. - he answered unexpectedly honestly, finally looking away. - What about you?

- I was sleeping. - she answered, surprised by his weird behavior - And now I guess I'll make a breakfast for Lieutenant. Wanna help?

He nodded, waited for her to stood up, and moved to the kitchen after her, still confused. He persistently tried to find any changes in her that could make her seem different to him, but despite multiple analyses of her entire body, he did not notice any, so he wandered around the room insecurely.

- Connor, everything's okay? - she asked gently, throwing him a glance over the shoulder - You're being a little weird.

- I don't know. - he answered, combing his hair with his hand - I have a feeling that something strange is happening with my software.

- Oh, really? - the girl became worried, completely turning to him - Maybe you would go to the Center with me? We have people that will check if your software is alright.

- No, no! - he protested, stepping back, and accidentally bumping into a chair. He could imagine what exactly could he tell those people, and he would have preferred not to think about that - I'll be fine. What about you?

- Better. I have to take a lot of thirium but there will be no trace after anything I drank, thanks for asking. Will you wake up Lieutenant? We have to think about what to do next.

- Sure. - he replied, then rushed through the corridor, quickly disappearing from her field of view. He was happy he could focus on his work, at least it was something familiar.

He hnocked on Andersons' bedroom, and stuck his head through the door.

- Hank? - he threw. The man opened his eyes, and looked at nim reluctantly - Chloe made breakfast. - he added on before the policeman threw his usual ,, get the fuck outta there " at him, and without waiting for an answer, he slipped out of the room.
