The three of us split off separately in case we ran into them.
I passed by the dining hall stiffly, cursing myself for wearing such a tight dress.
My shoes clanked against the marble floor softly as i made my way across the lodge towards Sorens office.
I assumed he'd be reviewing our proposals at this time, or working on his own research.
Assuming the position, I straightened my shoulders and raised my chin.
My hair was pushed over my shoulders and it dangled all the way down to my waist.
Taking a breath, I smiled and arched my back slightly as I approached his office door.
This was going to be the performance of the year. I deserved an Oscar for this.
Raising a calm hand, I knocked twice on his door and sucked in a breath.
Behind the door a voice sighed and I heard a couple pages rattle before the door opened.
I released my breath and plastered a winning smile on my face as the door creaked open and-
My mouth dropped open.
My eyes bugged out of my fucking head.
No.
This was not a fucking part of the plan.
I expected something to go wrong but not this.
Not fucking this.
"Aubriella?" he said straightening up.
My face twisted out of dumbfounded shock to annoyance.
"Where is Soren?" I said crossing my arms over my chest.
He sucked in a breath and stepped towards me.
I mirrored his step, backing away from him. I needed him at least an arms length away.
Auden's face dropped.
"Where. Is. He." I gritted out again.
His head cocked to the side a small smirk grew across his mouth at my attitude.
"I'm just here to grab something, don't know where Soren is." he smiled.
His gaze suddenly dropped down to my outfit which I was desperately trying to hide.
"You're here to see him" he gritted out.
'In that?' I'm sure he left out.
My mouth twisted into a sneer and I dropped my arms so that he caught a full view of what I was offering.
"Duh" I answered easing up my ridged stance.
Digging my phone out of my pocket, I sent off a quick text to April letting her know that the plan was gonna change a little.
This might even work better.
Pocketing my phone, I turned back to Auden who's gaze was dragging over every inch of my poorly clothed body.
I let out a sigh and moved to turn away.
3...2...1...
"Wait, please Aubriella-" he jogged up to match my pace as I swaggered away.
I smiled to myself.
"Yes?" I bit back trailing my eyes from his shoes up to his eyes.
He wore a form fitting deep red knit sweater and a pair of black slacks. His chestnut hair was tousled and he was starting to grow a beard.
