It was Aurora final day on Marks service and to say he will missing having her, being this close with her is an understatement. But he knows she needs to explore other specialty's so he will just make the most of of this day.

Cristina, derek and Meredith have an awkward encounter in the elevator as they are keeping secrets and izzie searches for George. A new intern joins the program and Cristina fakes sadness to guilt Meredith for surgeries.

"Banks, you are with me today. Harper you are on peds and Dane you are in the pit." Dr Quinn announces to her interns expecting them to follow her for rounds first "let's go, rounds first."

Dr Sloan and Dr Webber have a patient today called Connie who has cancer on her tongue and she needs to have it removed but the cancer takes up more of her tongue than they expected.

Following after Sloan, Aurora and her interns enter the room.

"How is she Dr Sloan?" The chief asks.

"We just got back the pathology report, Connie. Unfortunately the cancer is a bit more widespread than we'd hoped. It's over 60% of your tongue." His voice is calm but his eyes show sadness.

"Well, what does she do? Chemo." One of Connie's friends adds to the conversation

"I think the best bet is a micro vascular free flap. Dr Quinn?" The attending looks over to the resident waiting for her to continue.

"He'll remove the cancerous part of your tongue and then reconstruct it with a strip of flesh from your legs." The resident pauses and she sees Christian ready to say something but instead she looks over to Florence "Harper."

"The extra flesh would provide the bulk your tongue needs to breath properly, chew and swallow."

Aurora gives her intern a small nod and smile as if to say good luck.

"And talk?" Connie questions with a worried look.

The residents and interns are lost for words as they don't know how to break the news to her so Aurora quickly looks over to Dr Sloan for help and he notices this so he knows he has to tell her.

"Dr Sloan? I will be able to talk, wont I?" The patient asks looking between the interns and attending.

"You will be able to talk, Connie." He pauses for a moment before continuing "I just don't know how well you'll be understood."

Aurora and her interns continue rounds and Dr Sloan admires her as she walks off with her interns.

She sends her interns to do their required jobs for the day and her intern Christian banks is helping on Connie's case today but he is in scut before the surgery.

Aurora sees her attending Mark in the distance and walks over to him when she overhears the chief talking to him.

"Functional muscle transfer." The chief announces to Mark.

"What?" The attending replies back confused.

"For Connie Williams. I was reading up on glossectomies and saw the procedure. We could micro surgically reinnervate her hypoglossal nerve."

"A nerve craft? It's too risky. The free flaps still your best bet." Mark replies to the chief.

"Even if that goes well, we both know she'll never speak the same. And that woman loves to talk more than anyone I know." The chief declares worried for the patient.

Aurora pipes up and says "I think I've heard if that, what exactly is it?"

The chief looks to her and answers her question "you won't find it in the books. It's cutting edge. You connect the nerves from the leg with the nerves in the tongue. Gives her a shot at really speaking" He hands her the notes in the surgery
