Ayonawhatsit felt a shiver, and so did her goons, but they paid it no mind as they listened to her orders to completely ruin Haruhi's bag and toss it in the fountain. That commoner just wouldn't budge, and it irked her to no end. Haruhi paid no heed to any of her warnings, sometimes blatantly ignoring her.
Haruhi was thick-skinned. Nothing really got to her, and if Ayonawhatsit thought she could, she was mistaken.
It was more irritating to think of Riel, because he was even worse. He blatantly, to her face, insults her status! He was nothing compared to her. Nothing! What was with his sudden popularity? He was an Ennifer, so what? What did they have on her family of royals?
But aside from that, she had her focus on Haruhi. He was the one taking her Tamaki away from her. She hadn't noticed that the few boys that listened to her orders weren't as dismissive of him.
Sure, they could stand that their favorite lady swooned for the Suoh, but that was something they couldn't change. She was happy and still gave them attention, that was enough. But the moment that Ennifer shows up, suddenly her attention shifted. When she wasn't dealing with the commoner, she was dealing with the fake prince. There was no longer any time for them.
They were irritated, irrationally so. So, they wanted to take him out of the picture. Maybe upping their taunts would scare him off and their lady could finally look their way.
So when she got rid of the commoner's bag, they went through Ennifer's things too. Something had to be necessary, right? And what they come across was a delicious find. When they went to the fountain, along with Haruhi's belongings, they dumped what they found completely.
Laughing, they left feeling light and triumphant. They had no idea that something that wasn't human was watching everything they did. They didn't know what the ominous clouds on the horizon meant aside from a storm incoming.
Inside the music room, Riel wondered why Haruhi suddenly ran out during a session of hosting. She had fun doing it by now, and the brat princess wasn't here to bother her today so he wasn't really sure why she left so quickly. That was until he looked at where she was gazing before.
"What the hell is wrong with her?" Riel was angry, so visibly upset that the people around him worried.
"What's wrong? Riel-sama?" Suki and Sumi asked.
"I'm sorry. I will have to end this session of tutoring here for today."
"Did something happen?"
"Yes." He didn't hide that fact. "I'm certain you will know what very soon." He added mysteriously before promptly leaving, much to the confusion of the other hosts. Tamaki was already following Haruhi, so he just went after him, knowing where she was headed.
It's then that he finds a suspicious Ayonawhatsit, looking anywhere but him as he goes past her. Something felt off, and he didn't realize it until he got to where the two were already fishing for Haruhi's things. They were soaked from being in the pond. It looked like they had a bit of bonding happening, it was clear that she was less irritated with Tamaki than she usually was.
Riel could understand the confusion in her eyes. Usually, this man was obnoxious. He was unfathomably idiotic, simply horrendously annoying. But right now, he wasn't being any of those. He jumped in to help without questions or protests.
Despite his obnoxiousness, he was a good guy.
That's when he noticed a certain object floating aimlessly by said man's leg, and everything paused for him.
"Oh, Riel. Did you skip out on your club duties as well? Though this couldn't really be called skipping..." Haruhi's things had ended up in the pond, he saw them and dashed to get them out. That wasn't something he could blame him for doing, he would have done the same. Now he helped him find his wallet.
