Hikaru and Kauru had three things they wanted to accomplish. The first was getting their junior members to invite them to their houses! They were dying of curiosity for various reasons.
Haruhi was a commoner; they'd never been to a house of the lower class before! They wanted to see what it was like, and who better than Haruhi to show them? Getting a trip to Riel's home was a bonus.
After returning to his good graces (thank goodness for that) they wanted to deepen their friendship with him. They... also tried to rope him into their forbidden love scenarios. Why let it be when two could be three, right?
That was met with being sprayed with Riel's signature "Begone Thot" repellant. For a whole hour! Where'd he even get that? How'd he make its horrid scent linger for so long?! That bottle was cursed with auto-refills, too! He'd return to spraying them even when he had to take breaks because he was so weak!
Tamaki almost got the same treatment when he made advances toward Haruhi, too. The girl had to reassure him—after Tamaki learned and wrote a five-page essay on the meaning of consent—for Riel to make the bottle disappear.
Needless to say, they never tried it again. Though Tamaki is an idiot in love, there are times he can't be saved. Rest in peace, you'll be missed.
"Oi! I'm still alive!" Tamaki, knowing that pitying glance the twins had, fumed. "OI!"
He was ignored.
...Anyway~ Their plan. Going to his house wasn't the full plan for Riel. Hardly anyone had ever been to an Ennifer household, true. No one knew much about the family aside from their money and assets. If they could get a chance to come over to his home, this was a chance to get questions answered.
But mainly, this was their way to get closer to Riel. What was he like outside of school? They wanted to know. So, with that in mind, everyone agreed to the twins' little plan.
They made the skit featuring rivalry gone wrong, dyed their hair, and decided to act like they hated each other for a few days! The goal? Keep at it until Haruhi cracked and gave them the green light to go to her house! A genius plan if they say so themselves.
The girl had too big of a heart to let them continue their 'fight' for very long. They knew it was only a matter of time before Haruhi caved in.
But Riel? Nah, he didn't budge. He looked at them like the morons they were and went about his day. When they decided to dial up the act, Haruhi was won over, yet still, Riel didn't fall for it.
Instead, he just sighed at them. "You did this because you wanted to come to my house too, right?"
"How did..." Kauru started.
"...You figure it out?" Hikaru finished, and both looked at him amazed. They thought they'd masked their true plan well! What gave them away?
"You asked before beginning this ridiculous skit. Your eyes gave you away when you 'fought'." Riel revealed. He was an observant youth and was able to read people well. Eyes were windows to the soul, and those two weren't angry at all. If anything, they were having fun acting like they were.
It had been painfully obvious to Riel what the twins were up to. The moment Haruhi mentioned anything about their houses, they suddenly started acting differently. And Dimitra informed him that it was only when in their presence they did this act, adding to his correct assumption.
"Oh... You are super smart." They'd pointedly forgotten that Riel was a certified genius. Of course, he would have been able to see through their act.
"No, I just have eyes."
"That aside," Kyoya spoke up, saving the twins from further embarrassment. "Would it be possible for us to visit? I've spoken with your parents, they were eager to meet all of us."
