Riel has a hard time getting peace with the host club, and their tiresome antics spring some health issues for him such as headaches and nosebleeds. But he can manage them well with Dimitra and his medicines, which Kyoya made sure to stock at their school's pharmacy.
The teachers have been giving him even more freedom with his naps since the incident. Heck, they even provided the pillows. He was confused, but he was not going to refuse. Sleep was sleep, and he loved sleep. Though some have recommended he go home on days it's worse than normal, which he casually denies and reassures them everything is fine.
Actually, his body has been feeling better than before. Dimitra's system points, from the meager 3/1000 it had been when he first got here, was now 150/1000. It was still a far cry from full, but every point gave him great effects and they were relatively easy to earn, while a bit taxing.
'Dimitra, what exactly are the points for?'
[You can't use them now, but when you leave this world. Think of it as currency, or a power gauge. Based on the amount of points you have, I can be upgraded. And through my upgrades, you are also upgraded.]
'So based on how strong you are, you get that amount of upgrades and I received that amount of healing?'
[Yes. What I can do is limited aside from healing you enough to live. The real healing is done once the world is left, which is why despite the extensive healing you've already had, you will still die earlier than preferred. I apologize.]
'It's fine.' He has resorted to using Dimitra to hold off the effects many times until he was alone and could suffer in silence. He knew that this life wouldn't be long, and it would probably be a lot shorter than expected because... he does a lot of work.
He is not a workaholic. He just likes getting things done.
He could definitely see the effects of Dimitra, as even though it was small leaps, the strengthening was working and he could tell, bit by bit that he was healing. It may not be enough for this life, but just maybe, his next life would be so much longer.
Though he understood that this life wouldn't last, he saw promise in this. Maybe he really would get what he wanted. For now, though, he had a host club to deal with. He was there promptly and on time, letting out a sigh as he was bombarded.
"Riel, did you know that Haruhi was a girl the whole time?" Was one of the first questions Tamaki asked him, of course, after inquiring about his well-being. The response he got to that question was a deadpan from the tired teen. The longer it lasted, the more he realized that he was asking him something obvious.
"It's obvious he did." Kyoya stated, "In every conversation before we made her a host, he never used male pronouns when addressing her. It was only after that he did to hide it from the clients."
Riel was the main one who kept Tamaki from hugging Haruhi when he tried it. He put space between them, and always got on him when he did things that usually wouldn't require consent between boys. Casual hugs, closeness, changing, Riel was the wall that Tamaki had to get past to get to Haruhi.
It was obvious that he knew she was a she. It was obvious that he wanted to tell them that, too. But he never did. It would have compromised her standing in the host club if people found out, and Riel was a loyal friend. If she was serious about this, then he wasn't going to make things difficult for her.
"Why?" The blond prince decided to ask instead. Why would he not tell them? He didn't like them very much, and he wanted Haruhi away from their antics in the beginning. Doing so would have solved that for him.
"It was bothersome." Riel didn't feel like correcting every person in school about the subject. That was something for her to do herself. If she wasn't correcting them, then he was going to respect her choice and say nothing about it.
