chapter 9

Gracies POV-

I was out with Audrey and Abby shopping. We thought we needed a day together. I told them all about what happened a few days ago and they made me feel better about it but it still sucked finding out what I did to scarlet.

We were in New York for this event and I made them my plus two and also because I was recording my album so I needed to be here.

"oh my god look at that dog! it looks like weenie!" I said pointing to the dog coming in our direction.

"every time we're out of LA you think every dog looks like weenie." Audrey said laughing.

"awe I miss my baby." I said making a pouting face.

"you'll be home in like a week, you'll be fine." Abby said.

I poked her on the side of her stomach.

"you guys are heartless." I said looking at them.

They rolled their eyes and we all laughed.

I had a stylist and everything for the event so I was now in my hotel room getting my hair and makeup done. I was on my phone scrolling on instagram when I got an incoming facetime from Scarlet. I obviously answered it.

"hey gracie we just wanted to say hi." she said smiling and turning the phone to weenie.

"awe I was just talking about how much I missed him earlier." I said smiling.

"I think he's pretty happy with me, you sure I can't keep him? I think he missed me and plus he's always liked me more than you." she said smiling.

I squinted my eyes at her and fake gasped.

"Scarlet how dare you say such a false thing? its not good to lie you know?" I said.

"right right anyways you look really pretty. Make sure you send me photos of your outfit I didn't get to see it before you left." she said.

I smiled and nodded.

"I will and thank you for watching him while i'm gone." I said.

"of course. text me when you can and if you guys go out tonight be careful." she said.

"I will i promise and we'll be careful." I said still smiling.

"okay say bye to weenie, we have a walk to go on." she said turning the phone to weenie who was laying down.

I laughed and then we said bye and hung up.

The event went okay but by the end of the night my feet were just killing me and I wanted to lay down. Once we got back to our hotel we each went into our own rooms but before I went into mine someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and it was Hayes. Drunk.

"Gracie hey!" he said smiling.

"um hi what are you doing here?" I asked confused.

"I was at the event too, I was invited by some friends." he said.

"yeah okay but uh what are you doing like here at my hotel door?" I asked.

"Are you really with her again? what about the moments we shared?" he said slurring.

"Hayes i'm sorry but it was never gonna work out." I said.

"why? why do you love that ugly bitch? what does she have that I don't?" he said raising his voice.

"Hayes stop. First don't ever talk about her like that again and second she has everything and more. Now please leave me alone. You're drunk and I don't like it." I said getting closer to my door.

"Gracie please just give me another-

Out of nowhere my room door opened and I turned around and saw Scarlet standing there. She had on black dress pants with a white button up but it was unbuttoned a little at the top. It was tight around her arms since she worked out a bit and you could see her muscles. I felt like I was dreaming.

"I think she told you to leave her alone, didn't she?" she said putting me behind her.

"Yeah but-

"but nothing. respect her decision and realize that she doesn't want you. don't come near her again, who the fuck do you think you are following her to her hotel? that's weird as fuck. don't you think?" she said getting in his face.

He had his fist balled up which scared me but then he released his hands and took a deep breath in and walked away. She watched him until he was out of site and then turned around and smiled at me.

I jumped into her arms and she picked me up spinning us around and closed the door behind us as she gently put me on the bed.

"what are you doing here?" I said excitedly.

"you've been gone for a week already and I didn't want to wait another week so I took a plane here and don't worry, weenie is safely with your parents." she said smiling at me.

I smiled at her and just hugged her again taking in her scent.

"I missed you." she whispered.

"I missed you too, a lot actually." I said pulling away and staring into her eyes.

She let go and grabbed my hand spinning me around.

"this dress looks great on you. Wanna go downstairs to the bar and get a couple drinks? if you don't want to its okay I understand if you're tired." she said.

I was tired but I much rather keep looking at her.

"nope lets go" I said grabbing her hand.

We ended up staying at the bar for about an hour just talking and dancing since it was really just us in there and they had an old jukebox.

I don't know what it is but i'm going crazy just looking at her. I want her but she's not ready and I need to respect that.

Scarlets POV-

We walked back up to her room and she was walking in front of me. She kept putting the key card on the reader but it kept turning red. I smiled looking at her.

"oh my god help it won't work." she said laughing.

I looked down at her as she looked up at me handing me the key card and I took it from her still keeping eye contact and the door opened. She looked down and looked up with her eyes wide open.

"what? that is not fair, why did it work for you?" she said laughing.

"i'm just better." I said laughing.

She rolled her eyes at me and we walked into our room.
