chapter 19

Gracies POV-

"no please don't make me get up." I said putting the blanket over my head.

"baby I have to. We need to make sure we have everything ready so we can leave for the airport." She said over me.

I peaked my head out the blanket and she looked at me shaking her head.

"fine." I said groaning.

"come on." she said with her arms out.

I crawled on top of her lap and put my head on her shoulder as she got up and brought me to the bathroom. She sat me down on the sink and turned the faucet on putting my toothbrush under it.

"here, i'll be downstairs my love." She said handing me it and then kissing my head.

I smiled at her as she walked away. I love her more than anything.

Once I finished in the bathroom I put on sweatpants and a t shirt since we would be flying back home most of the day. Well literally the whole day. I was bummed about us leaving. I actually love it here and the time that Scarlet and I got alone really meant a lot to me.

I made my way downstairs, making sure I checked the whole room to make sure we didn't forget anything.

"there's my sweet girl, you ready?" she said wrapping her arms around me.

"are you sure we can't stay another day?" I asked.

"yes babe, you have interviews for your album but we'll come back I promise." she said kissing my head.

I sighed and looked up at her and leaned in kissing her softly.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you more angel." she said smiling.

After a long day of flying, we finally made it back to Los Angeles. We were both tired and exhausted and just wanted to be in our own bed.

"we're picking up weenie from your parents tomorrow right?" Scarlet said looking over at me tiredly.

"yeah babe don't worry we'll be able to sleep after that horrible flight." I said smiling at her.

I wrapped my arm around her waist as we walked out of the airport. We're not entirely sure how but there was fans and paparazzi. We said hi to as much fans that we could but at the same time we were drained so we got into our car pretty fast.

Once we got to Scarlets apartment we both immediately went into her room.

"oh my god I missed you." She said plopping herself down on her bed.

I laughed at her and laid down next to her.

"shower now or in the morning?" I asked.

"yeah no. If we shower now we might actually fall asleep in there." she said looking up.

We both got changed and got into bed holding each other. We gave each other a kiss and dosed off.

Scarlets POV-

I woke up the next morning earlier than Gracie since I had a few meetings with my team. I got ready for the day and made myself breakfast quietly to not wake gracie up.

As I was eating I heard foot steps so I turned around and saw gracie wrapped in my blanket. She walked over to me and sat down on my lap.

"hi my love, did you sleep okay?" I said wrapping my arms around her.

she nodded her head in the crook of my neck.

"I just wanted to see you and hug you before you left, we both have busy days today so we won't see each other much." she said.

I hugged her tighter and placed a kiss on her cheek.

"i'm sorry." I said.

And I was. I felt bad because I didn't want her to feel like she used to feel. I'm trying to be around more for her and for us.

"you don't have to apologize for anything baby, we're both busy people with music careers but these little moments mean a lot to me." she said looking at me.

I nodded and pulled her in for a kiss.

"i'll make you some breakfast before I have to go." I say rubbing her cheek.

"no its okay I still have a couple hours before I need to actually get up so I might go back to sleep for an hour or two." she said.

I smiled at her rolling my eyes and then picked her up and brought her to my room.

"get some sleep my love, I promise to text or call you throughout the day." I say setting her down.

"I love you so much and please be safe." she said looking at me.

"I'll always be safe for you. I love you sweet girl." I said kissing her.

I hugged her and then made myself downstairs to my car.

It was now 2pm and I was starving since I had breakfast almost 5 hours ago. Luckily I was able to stop to get something quick but now I was on my way to my 3rd and last interview of the day.

"hey scarlet! thank you so much for coming, so as you know this is a podcast so if there's anything we ask that you don't want to talk about then please just say that and we'll move on. We don't want to step over any boundaries." Zach said.

I was on Zach Sangs podcast.

I nodded and we all sat down. He introduced me and then we started talking about the album.

"So I wanted to talk to you about your song "Pray", it seems to have gotten a lot of attention on the album. Can you talk to us about the song and what inspired it?" Zach asked.

"Of course. Pray, means a lot to me because it speaks about me going through a bad time but then overcoming it. As a lot of people know I went through a breakup and kind of lost myself after so writing pray and putting down my feelings in a song really helped me overcome those thoughts that I had." I said smiling at them.

"And this was the break up with Gracie Abrams right?" Dan asked.

I stopped and looked at him before I answered because this was the first time that i've publicly talked about it.

"yes but this song also just talked about my own mental state even while being in a relationship. I think it's really easy for people to lose themselves but how you bring yourself back really matters especially by yourself." I said adjusting myself in my seat.

"If you don't mind me asking. So you and Gracie are now back together right? how did that, well you know end up being the end result because its no secret that obviously the album is about going through a breakup." Zach said.

I smiled at him and looked down and then back up.

"Yes we're back together and it's amazing being together but adjusting to it definitely wasn't easy. Gracie and I talked and communicated a lot which is needed in a relationship to be healthy. We work very well together and I wouldn't want it any other way. Gracie truly is such an amazing girl and an important person in my life." I said smiling.

"We're glad that you guys were able to find your way back to each other and I must say, you guys are literally like glowing together now and it's a good thing to see that young love still well you know exists in our time." Dan said laughing.

I laughed with him and nodded.

"Thank you dan and yeah definitely. We came back to each other at the right time and we're doing it right this time so it's all that matters." I said smiling at them.

We continued to talk more about random things like new songs, albums, and tour.

We finished up the podcast and I made my way back home. I sighed as I walked through my door because of how exhausted I felt.

I called gracie to let her know I was home and she told me she would be home soon.
