Two weeks later...
"Are you sure that's it?" Johnny said with a smirk eying the cases on the landing. "I think so..." Holly said biting her bottom lip. "What, no kitchen sink? No couch?" Johnny chuckled before wrapping his arms around his stressed wife. "The whole idea of having many homes is that we don't have to do all this..." he gestured to the cases again. "It's the girls. They are growing so quickly. Pippa is ok, I'm sure I've got hand me downs there from Lottie last summer, but Lottie needs a lot more vacation stuff. Hardly nothing fit her, the back of end of last Summer." "Hand me downs?" Johnny smirked. "I'm supposedly one of the most successful Hollywood actors in the world.. once rumoured to spend over £30k a month on wine alone... and my youngest is in hand me downs?" "Johnny stop! There's nothing wrong with those clothes, half the stuff has hardly been worn anyway!" She said giggling. "Sounds like my wife and girls need a shopping trip..." Johnny said kissing her passionately. "Don't even think about it." She mumbled against his lips.
The next morning was chaotic. Lottie and Pippa were beside themselves with excitement as Johnny had let slip they were going on a plane which usually meant, sweeties, ice cream and goodness what else treat wise to keep them occupied, especially during the long transatlantic flights they had already experienced in their little lives. Jack had overslept terribly and was extremely upset at his lack of time to shower and ready himself. "Jack.. we've got an hour until we leave, all you need to do is shower yourself and dress? I've got two young children and YOUR father to worry about.." Holly smirked as he trailed behind her on the landing where she was adding more luggage. "Lily is in her shower now though if I get in mine the water will be cold..." "ok well as soon as she's out, you jump in?" Holly offered before the teen said "I think I'll eat first." Which made his step mother giggle and roll her eyes.
The family boarded the plane with ten minutes to spare. Lily-Rose and Jack opted to sit next to each other, and the two youngest decided they wanted to be grown up and sit opposite their siblings. Holly strapped them both in and ensured their seatbelts were on right before stowing the holdalls in the over head cabins. "All ok doll?" Johnny asked as he boarded after finishing his many cigarettes. "Yep... iPads are charged and fully loaded with ammunition to keep them quiet." She smirked before he lent in and kissed her. "Great... Stephen is just watching the last of the baggage get loaded and we are good to go." "Amazing.." Holly sighed in relief before pulling out her phone.
Kate: Safe trip and have the best time.. can't wait to join you in a few weeks. Don't eat and drink too much without me!!! Love ya x x x
Holly giggled at her best friend's message, and decided to respond with a photo.
Holly: No chance!! I'll just sample the good stuff and ensure it's ready for your arrival. X x x x
She was soon joined by Gina who sat opposite and they both clinked their glasses "To Summer Vacation" Gina said toasted a smile. "It literally couldn't have come quick enough." Holly said raising her glass and taking a sip. It had been a while since she drank but she enjoyed the first bubbles of Summer until Lottie piped up. "Mummy can I have some?" "Absolutely not!!" Holly replied giggling. "Why??!" "Because it's an adult drink." "Ohhh that's not fair." "In French culture, it's normal to drink wine from around 12/13..." Lily added and her father chuckled as he sat down beside his wife. "Ah well not long to wait then Lottie." He kissed Holly's cheek before leaning back in his seat and getting comfortable. "Who's ready for Summer??" He said loudly making the other adults smirk as the children cheered. "I just got them quiet..." Holly whispered. "I know I know, but I'm excited." He smirked earning a roll of the eyes from Gina. "You're a big kid!" She said with a smirk. "Auntie G... cuddles!!" Pippa cheered from across the aisle making the woman smile. "When we are in the air you can have as many cuddles as you like! It's been ages since I saw you poppet!!" Holly smiled and loved what a big part of her life Stephen and Gina were.
Waking up in France was always wonderful for Holly, when Johnny first told her about the place she never understood what he meant by it being his main home but now she did. They had married in the gardens of the place that they felt most safe, most private and most normal. The children could roam free, and not have to worry, the elder kids weren't bothered at all by French people, and even the press had a much better understanding of a private life. It always helped that Johnny was his most relaxed in the south, usually found with a paintbrush in hand, this was where he was most himself and Holly loved it. After a lazy morning with a casual breakfast of croissants, fruit and other pastries, the mother entered her youngest's room and got her dressed and ready for the day. "It's a bit cloudy today, so maybe not swimming but we can find something fun to do ok?" She said to Pippa as she brushed her hair. "Maybe Daddy will play with us too hey?" This earned a cheer from the three year old. "How about you go find Daddy and I'll go make sure Lottie is ok?"
Johnny had approached his youngest's bedroom and heard the mother daughter conversation. He lent on the doorframe as he watched Holly tend to the baby of the family. It was a beautiful sight, the children wanted for nothing, and Holly doted on all four of them, biologically hers or not. "No need.. I'm right here." He said with a smile.
