Forty One

Johnny quickly recovered jumping to his feet. "Darling?" He asked concerned as he began to rub her lower back. "Everything hurts." "Are you in Labour?" He asked quickly and almost nervously. "My waters haven't broken." Holly said with wide eyes looking up at him. "Ok let's get you comfortable." Johnny grabbed the silk negligee and gently placed it over his wife's head and arms and guided her into the bedroom. He gently sat her down on the bed as she swung her legs up and lent against the masses of pillows. "What hurts?" He asked sitting down beside her, taking her hand. She sighed, "All of it, everything." She grimaced once more before he stood up. "I'm gonna call the midwife." She nodded closing her eyes and breathing through the pain.

"We've got to go in and get checked." "Really?" Holly said scared as Johnny walked back in the room. "What's wrong? Did she say?" "She said all could be well but it's worth getting checked isn't it?" Johnny said calmly and Holly nodded attempting to stand. He quickly helped her dress before throwing a few essentials into a bag. "Shall we take the baby bag?" She asked nervously. "I think that's probably a good idea." He said grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently, before he rushed off into the nursery.

Walking out to the landing he called for his elder children in a loud whisper. Lily rushed up the stairs after spotting the distressed look on her father's face. "Daddy?" She questioned. "Something isn't right with Hols. She's in agony. We are going to the hospital. There's no time to call anyone. Hold the fort darling." He kissed her forehead as the twenty year old nodded sadly. "Is the baby ok?" She asked and Johnny smiled anxiously. "I hope so." He headed back into the master bedroom and guided his wife to the top of the stairs. She was in black loungewear and sneaks and had tied her damp hair off her face in a high pony tail. As the pair made their way down the stairs, Jack wandered in from the garden. "What's going on?" "Hols needs to be checked out. You and Lily are in charge, I'll call you with news ok?" Jack nodded before locking the door behind himself which caused his father to raise an eyebrow. "I'm in charge, and security is important." Jack simply replied.

Johnny snatched the car keys from the kitchen drawer and headed out to the driveway helping Holly into the vehicle carefully before rushing to the hospital.

"Mrs Depp, your blood pressure is high. We need to get that back into the normal range, you need to rest for me." The nurse said to Holly who was lying in a private room in the maternity ward of the hospital. Just then a loud bang on the door was heard. "Yes?" Johnny replied and a flustered Sean and Travis stumbled in. "What is the emergency gents?" The nurse asked amused. "It's just baby number two came so fast..." Sean gasped for breath "we thought we might be needed." Travis said with a slight smile. "You're all good for now Trav." Holly said leaning back and rubbing her prominent bump. "Well, ok, we will umm be outside." Sean said nodding towards the boss.

"Everything is going well apart from your blood pressure. If it's still the same in three hours we will have to consider inducing you Mrs Depp..." an hour later and the news was still the same. Holly nodded sadly. She felt like her body was betraying her. Johnny quickly took his wife's hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "Aren't there risks to that?" "Not as many as you would think and in the long run it could help baby." Holly nodded. "Whatever is best for our child."
