Thirty Four

"Happy Birthday to Pippa... Happy birthday to you..." the group cheered whilst the now four year old blew out the candles on her cake. "Hang on.. wait." Christi said smiling holding her phone out as she captured a photo of Johnny, Holly and the birthday girl with her cake. "Christi, thank you so much for coming over. It's been so nice having you all over here for Christmas, New Year and Pip's special day." Holly said hugging her sister in law. "Nonsense. Thanks for having us. You're a wonderful host." Holly smiled before beginning to cut the cake and handing it out to the guests of Pippa's party, her cousins and little friends had all joined in the celebration and she was buzzing not just from the sugar.

Johnny, Jamie and Max were in the garden smoking away from the children when Johnny nudged the latter. "We've lost him again Jamie." He said taking a drag. "Sorry.. my mind isn't with it. What did you say John?" Max said taking a drag. "Doesn't matter. What's up with you?" Johnny asked. "I umm, oh fuck it, the girls tell each other everything. It's Emily.." "what about her?" Jamie asked confused. "She's 8 weeks pregnant." "Shit!" Johnny said happily. "Wow mate. Congrats." The guys hugged it out before resuming their conversation. "Hang on. 8 weeks? As in just after we got back from LA?" Jamie asked. "Well yeah I guess why do you wanna know?" Max asked. "Nothing.. it's just Kate kept pestering me too for a third. I said let's see how Hols and Johnny get on with five..." Johnny smirked before remembering something. "Funny you say that.. at thanksgiving Holly asked me if after this one were we done? I said it's not really my call. I get the easy gig." The men smirked before excitedly talking about the news.

After putting Lottie and Pippa to bed, Lily and Jack were on the couch watching a movie and Holly was finishing clearing up the kitchen and dining area from the party when Johnny approached. "Is there anything I can do?" "No it's all under control. Do you want anymore cake before I put it away?" She asked with a smile. "God no, I feel sick as it is. I'll look pregnant if I eat anymore." He chuckled before Holly put the kettle on, and made her favourite tea before pouring Johnny his favourite glass of red. "Lil... Jack...do you want a glass of red?" They both accepted and headed into the kitchen area to retrieve their drinks. "Well I think today went amazingly well. Thanks for your help guys." She said to the older kids. "I can't believe she's four. It's crazy. It feels like yesterday she was born." "Lily, it feels like yesterday you were born!" Johnny smirked before the two elders returned to the couch. "J I've been thinking.." Holly began leaning on the island. "Go on.." "We are rapidly outgrowing this house." "Are we??" Johnny asked. "Well yes.. it's 6 bedrooms." "It is." Johnny nodded knowingly. "Me, you, Lil, Jack, Lottie, Pippa.. and now this one." She said placing her hands on her bump. "Christ yeah..." Johnny said nervously swallowing. "I don't think we need to rush anything, but I liked it when your family visited and they actually stayed with us you know, not just in hotels." Holly said emotionally. "And I know the big pickles are going off into the world but I always want them to feel like they can come home you know, wherever that is, and have a room and stuff? London might not be their hometown but I want them to feel they can come here anytime. Like at my parents, that's my room you know?" She's said almost emotional. Johnny nodded wrapping his arms around his wife. "Hey don't get upset. It's ok.. we'll find somewhere. I promise. This house has done us proud.. and I'm not sure I'll ever want to say goodbye to it but yes maybe you're right, we do need to get a bigger place to call home." She kissed him before hugging him tight. "I do love you Johnny.." "Well that's good because I love you too Mrs D." He said happily before they grabbed their drinks and headed into the living area.
