DYLAN POV

When I had spotted Oliver, I couldn't believe it.
My parents weren't even here.

After the game, I walked to the parking lot, where I spotted Oliver and Kate.

"Hey," I said, "I didn't know you'd be here," I couldn't help but smile.

"She made me," Oliver said, pointing to Kate.

"Oh, shut up," Kate said, making me laugh.

"Kidding," Oliver said. He smiled and looked down.

"Dylan!" Alex yelled from across the field, "You coming?"

For some reason, I was actually kind of upset that I was getting pulled away from my conversation with Oliver and Kate. It was really my first time ever talking to Kate, and I wanted to get to know her better.

"Well, I better get going," I said, "It was nice seeing you guys,"

"You too," Oliver said. Kate smiled.

I started walking towards Alex as Oliver and Kate left. I turned around to see them laughing.

We got into Alex's car and headed towards our local pizza place, which is where we usually went after games.

We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, and we all sat around in a booth.

"Sorry I'm late," Lauren said, moving into the seat next to me.

I knew I was supposed to like Lauren, and I mean, I did. She was nice and funny, but I just wasn't into her. Plus, she couldn't have even bothered to show up our first game.

On our way home, Alex talked about this girl he liked. She didn't really interest me.

"What about you?" He asked, "Why haven't you asked out Lauren yet? We all know she likes you,"

I didn't know why I felt ashamed to tell him that I didn't like her back.

"Really? I didn't think she liked me," I said, playing dumb.

"Come on, man," Alex said.

I had to act quickly. I couldn't let anyone know about this weird dilemma I was having with Lauren. Truthfully, it was crazy that the girl that every guy liked wanted to go out with me, but I didn't want to.

"Okay," I said, "I'll ask her out tomorrow,"
