"keep her hair straight, i like it curled at the ends, and make sure she doesn't wear to much make up because her natural face is what i love the most. Oh and don't forget-"
"dude, get out...i got this."
The make up artist shooed Aubrey out the door causing sunny to giggle a bit. He was more worried about her appearance then she was, it was now her in a room with a crew of about 24, fixing up what she would wear, how her hair would be set, and how her make up would be plastered to her face. The head of the clothing designer team stood on a chair and clapped to get everyone to settle down and listen
"okay! we got about and two hours before the show starts, and even after it starts her performance is last. Me and Kelsey have decided the color scheme for today is, drum roll please."
Both groups of make up artist and clothing designers began to stomp there feet with anticipating looks on there faces
"red!"
they all shouted and cheered out making sunny smile. She didn't understand why they were all excited about the color being red but as long as they were happy and able to make her look fabulous, that was okay with her. She had butterflies in her stomach since she got up this morning and she had a feeling as if she were gonna throw up, today was the day she was going to perform with Aubrey in front of twenty thousand people and there was no turning back now. Like a flock of birds they all ran towards her at once, they crowded her while yelling out orders to people and rushing her to the large bathroom on the east side of the room. they stripped her clothes off of her faster then she could protest and moved her into the shower stall, it was a little weird but she understood that it was okay, they did this all the time, it was there job. They handed her about 6ix different soaps to wash her skin with, some of it was cool and tingly against her skin while others were warm and felt like they melted on her, same goes for hair care products, deep cleansers and smell good stuff. By the time her shower was finished she was in pure heaven and wished it would've lasted a little longer, but she knew they were on a thin lined time frame. They decided to do her hair and make up first, just like how she works her way into getting ready, they handed her the fuzzy pink robe to place over her naked body while the people worked on her from all different angles. People worked on her toes and nails, people worked on her face, people worked on her hair while other people in the back worked on putting together the perfect outfit. She could get used to this.
"okay sunny, so what we have decided is that the color scheme for the day will be red. That means red everything, the whole color of you will be red and every that isn't red will coordinate with it."
Sunny had learned that the color red was an easy color to work with, which is why everyone was so excited. Greg, the head and director of the Make up and design team began to explain the long process of what would happen, they told her they were gonna touch up her roots for her so they wouldn't look to bad, they would do it how Aubrey liked it and her make up wouldn't be much but what she wore everyday. She told Greg she didn't want Aubrey coming in because she wanted it to be a surprise, she wanted to wow him on stage with her flossy looks. She could hear the screams and shouts from the audience from inside her dressing room which gave her a bit of anxiety, she knew the crowd would be huge but hearing them made her snap into reality and realize this was serious. In about two hours she would be on a stage, in front of a huge crowd, doing the last thing she wanted to do.
.....................................
"whats happening?"
Aubrey ran in from the stage to the family seating area, usually people would sit there when they were waiting to come out and perform, but in this case it was where sunny sit on the couch freaking out. She held a paper bag in one hand and a bottle of water in the other when she saw Aubrey she dropped them both and ran to him. She embraced him in a hug, not even caring about the damage that could've been done to her hair, makeup and or outfit, he was sweaty but she didn't care about either, in this moment all she needed was him.
"i cant do it, i cant do it Aubrey, i cant do it."
"hey, hey, look at me. what is the matter?"
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as she pulled away and took a deep breath, her heart pounded against her chest feeling like it was gonna burst at any moment. She swallowed and took another deep breath before speaking up
"i cant do this, its to many people. im gonna mess up and there gonna hate me for ruining your song and-"
"hey, calm down. Its okay, your fine, its okay."
He pulled her in for another hug giving the tech directors a look of question
"she started to freak out when we went to put the In Ear Monitor on and attach her battery pack for the mic she would be using."
"i told you she wouldn't need a battery pack, she'll be sitting at a piano with a mic built in."
The technical engineers put there hands up in defense at the tone of Aubrey's voice, he didn't seem to happy about there screw up but he pushed it to the back of his mind as sunny cling onto him for dear life
"you can do this."
"i cant! what if i open my eyes and look at them!"
"so don't open your eyes."
"but what if i do!"
She looked up at him with a face that said it all, she wasn't ready for this and Aubrey felt guilty for pushing this tour on her. But he knew she could do it, he knew she could. Yesterday she performed perfectly in front of about 50 people who were working with rehearsals, whats 19,950 more people gonna do? Aubrey looked around until he spotted a black bandanna hanging from the out of his jean pocket
"give me that."
The tech guy wasted no time with handing Aubrey the bandanna, he peeled sunny off of him like a sticker and cupped her cheek in his hand
"you can do this baby girl, i know you can. If you need to put this on over your eyes.... we can turn up your Ear Monitor so you cant hear a thing but the music you play, just how you like. you can do this sunny....i know you can."
you can do this, Rex is watching you and hes so proud of you. you can do this, don't be such a little bitch. Sierra would be cussing you out right now if she saw you. Just imagine the look of shock your parents will have on there face when they hear about this. Sun'jai Rose Dior, piano player extraordinaire. Sunny's positive head talk stopped once she stepped on stage, she wasn't supposed to step on stage, she was supposed to wait till Aubrey came and got her because she didn't want to do it by herself. She stood on the backside of the stage with a shocked expression at the fact that she just did that, the crowd screamed out louder then she'd ever heard them scream. Aubrey took in all the applaud thinking it was about him but was cut off from all the glory when Future the Prince spoke into the DJ mic
"heeeeeeeeey sunny."
Sunny put up her hand shyly as she look out in complete shock, the place looked even more big now that every seat and stand was filled with people. Her shock was cut short as she felt herself being lifted into a pair of firm arms, she realized it was Aubrey and smiled to herself, The crowd went crazy as he carried her bridal style over to the piano giving her kisses on the cheek every few steps. He set her down and squeezed her hand before walking over to his red X while talking to the hype crowd. This was it, this was her moment to shine. Sunny place the bandanna over her eyes confusing everyone in the crowd and behind stage, how was she supposed to play if she couldn't see? Aubrey laughed into the mic making the crowd scream again
"she gets nervous, so she has to cover her eyes."
Hearing his voice calmed her down a bit, but she still felt like she was going to vomit, she crunched and bent her fingers in the position they were supposed to go in before placing them down on the keys. The music started up and so did she, her In Ear device canceled out all noises but her playing and sooner then later the feeling of vomit went away as she played and sang like nobody was there but her.
