Zephyr stormed into the room, his eyes ablaze with fury. The others trailed behind him, their expressions mirroring his anger and concern. Frederick approached, his head bowed, and reported, "Your Majesty, the humans are gone. We only have the father."
Zephyr's eyes darkened, his frustration palpable. "How could they escape? And why the hell didn't the soldiers stop them?" he thundered.
One of the soldiers hesitated before stammering, "They... they escaped, Your Majesty. The father distracted us, and the family slipped away through the back."
Zephyr glared at Frederick, his voice a low growl, "How could they escape? You were supposed to station guards!"
"Enough!" Lysander interrupted, turning his attention to the battered form of Anastasia's father, who stood defiantly amidst the supernatural beings. His face was swollen, blood dripped from his nose, yet his eyes held a stubborn resolve.
He questioned, his tone cutting through the room, "Where is she?"
The bloodied father spat out a mixture of blood and defiance, "I won't fucking tell you anything."
Leif, consumed by rage, struck out at the soldier next to him, breaking the unfortunate soldier's nose. The room erupted in chaos as everyone demanded answers. Zephyr, however, maintained a calculated composure. He approached Anastasia's father, a dark glint in his eyes.
Zephyr spoke with an ominous calm, "You can make this easier for yourself, or you can face the consequences of resisting. Either way, I will find her."
Anastasia's father, battered but unyielding, spat at Zephyr's feet, "I won't betray my family."
Zephyr turned to the others, "Leave us."
Reluctantly, the soldiers filed out, leaving 7 of them alone with the defiant human. The air crackled with tension as Zephyr circled him, his eyes never leaving the bloodied figure.
Zephyr, his voice a dangerous whisper, said, "You might be stronger than I anticipated, but you won't withstand what I can do. Where. Is. She?"
"I won't tell you even you kill me," the father defiantly retorted.
Oberon calmly said, "Alright...you know what, we will find them, but you won't forever know what we'll do with them. There might be a chance someone else might have already found her. Don't you remember you have two little girls with your wife and son?"
They left the panicking father in the room and locked the door.
Lysander stepped forward, his dragon eyes ablaze. "This is unacceptable. We can't lose our mate like this."
Leif, his lycan senses tingling, added, "We need to find them before any harm befalls them. What if they stumble into the territory of those who wish us harm?"
Zephyr, clenching his fists, nodded. "We'll split up and search. Spread the word to the others. They're to be found at any cost."
As they dispersed to initiate the search, Amias, his incubus nature agitated, remarked, "If anyone has harmed her, there will be consequences."
Thaddeus, the warlock, warned, "We should tread carefully. If she's scared or injured, our presence could make things worse."
Zephyr, his emotions a turbulent storm, agreed, "We need to find her before anything happens. Move quickly and quietly. We can't afford any missteps."
With a shared determination, the supernatural beings of Zephyr's realm dispersed into the shadows, each with a singular goal – finding their missing mate and her family. The fate of Anastasia and her loved ones hung in the balance, and the clock was ticking.
