CHAPTER-6

"Akshu, although you were part of the family before too but now, welcome to the family officially" Shreya said hugging her

"Thank you Maa" Akshu said smiling at her

"Accha accha maa, let's go to our rooms bohot thak gaye aaj toh" Veer said and looked at Khushi who glared at him

"Han han aap toh sabse zyada thak gaye honge, haina bhabhi" Arav said teasingly

"Chup kar"

"Accha accha chalo sab apne apne kamre mein jaakar aaram karo" Dadu said and elders left for their room

"What are you people waiting for?" Veer asked Manik

"Huh?"

"Pick her up and go to your room" Veer said in a 'duh' tone when Manik looked at him confused

"Uthane ki kya zaroorat hai, wo chal sakti hai" Manik said

"So unromantic bhai" Arav said making faces

"Shut up" said Manik and picked Akshu in his arms who blushed a little but then looked at him and said

"Don't you watch serials?"

"Excuse me, do you think I watch one?" He asked irritated with the fact that his brother called him 'unromantic'

"Han pata hi tha mujhe tum jaise sadu, akdu, khadoos insaan dekhta bhi nhi hoga" she said as he kept her down on her feets once they reached his, I mean their room

"Oh hello, un serials mein hota bhi kya hai han, 5-6 baar shaadi, 7-8 baar marne ke baad bhi zinda hona aur bekaar ke background music jo 10 minute ke scenes ko 25 minutes ka episode bana deta hai? Aur toh aur hero ki shaadi heroine ki behen se hone wali hoti hai par phir heroine se ho jaati hai, saare serials ka ek hi toh plot hai"  Manik said removing his frustration, I mean ofcourse he has seen his mother and his khushi bhabhi watching those serials and when he complained about the same to them, they shoved him away saying 'he won't understand anything'

"Tumne abhi toh kaha ki tum nahi dekhte, phir tumhe itna sab kuch kaise pata?" She asked raising her eyebrows and folding her hands

"Maa aur bhabhi  dekhti hai" he said

"And wait a minute, sadu, akdu, khadoos, kisko bola tumne, han?" He asked stepping closer to her and she took steps back

"T-tumhe" she fumbled and he smirked at her reaction and she closed her eyes only to open when she didn't feel anything

"Manik" she called when she saw him staring at her and caressing her cheeks with thumb

"Hm?"

"Are we friends?" She asked and he looked at her

"Are we?" He asked instead

"Are we only friends, Mrs Akshita Manik Malhotra?" He said and she felt as if whole zoo was dancing in her stomach with the name

"Hm? Answer me?" He asked again and she looked at him and said

"I don't know"

"I don't know but I feel good when you are there, yes, you are irritating and annoying as hell but still I feel good when you hold my hand and when you smile at me" she said and he smiled at her and slowly kissed her forehead

"I know it was an arrange marriage but I want to give this a chance, I want to give US a chance" he said and kissed her forehead

"I want to give a chance to us, too" Akshita said and Manik smiled

Manik cried in annoyance, God, why me? He thought as he got up from the floor and moved to the sofa, wondering why sofa? Because your favourite girl, Akshu kicked him for the nth time, sighing, he slept on the sofa, while Akshita slept peacefully unaware of her surroundings

"Good morning, Maa" Arav said back hugging Shreya who was in the kitchen

"Good morning beta" Shreya said patting his cheeks

"Good morning" Khushi greeted them cheerfully while Veer just smiled slightly at them

"Good morning everyone" Akshu wished them smiling and hugged Khushi and they wished her back

"Akshu, aaj tumhari pehli rasoi hai toh tum kuch meetha bana do beta" Shreya said

"Aaj breakfast main bana dun?" Akshu asked her instead

"Tum bana logi?" Shreya asked

"Don't worry, Maa, I'll help her" Khushi said smiling and Shreya smiled too

Later, she prepared breakfast and everyone praised her cooking skills while Manik looked at her proudly

"Accha Manik, thode din kaam se chutti lelo" Raj said and he nodded

"Accha, Maa, Papa aap dono chachi ji ke ghar kab jaa rahe hai?" Raj asked

"Abhi thodi der mein" Jaya answered

"Main drop karunga aap dono ko" Arav said and they agreed
