The morning sun filtered through the windows of Seoul High, casting a warm glow over the classroom. Excitement buzzed in the air as the students eagerly anticipated the outcome of Mrs. Lee's decision to rearrange the seating plan.
Jungkook, in particular, could hardly contain his enthusiasm. The prospect of sitting next to his crush, Namjoon, fueled his excitement, and he couldn't wait for the new arrangement to unfold.
In section JH-2 of junior high school class, students took their seats.
Jungkook also took his seat, He couldn't stop fidgeting, his eyes darting between the clock and the door. Today was the day he had been waiting for, the day that would change everything.
As the minutes ticked by, his heart beat faster and faster, the anticipation almost too much to bear. As Mrs. Lee entered the room, a hush fell over the students.
Finally, the bell rang and Mrs. Lee entered the classroom, a stack of papers in her hands.
"Good morning, class!" Mrs. Lee greeted with a smile and continued her words, "Today, we will be switching seats. Get all your things ready. Hurry up. After that, line up outside the door in group. When I call your name, come back and find your new seat. Understand?" she asked.
All students answered while nodding their heads, "Yes, Mrs. Lee". And then all the student stood outside of the class and waited for their name to be called out.
Then Mrs. Lee called Jungkook's name, A grin spread across his face as he mentally high-fived himself for manifesting this dream into reality. Mrs. said, "Fourth row by the window".
He took his assigned seat happily. The teacher called Taehyung's name and he entered the class with a stern look and Jungkook just huffed after seeing Taehyung's face and waiting for Mrs. Lee to call out Namjoon's name.
But soon Jungkook's excitement plummeted like a deflating balloon when the teacher's next word hit his eardrums' "Go and sit next to Jungkook".
The room felt like it was spinning, and he shot a bewildered look at Jimin, who mirrored his shock.
Mrs. Lee continued with the seating assignments; the buzz of excitement still palpable in the room. Meanwhile, Jimin shot sympathetic glances in Jungkook's direction, his eyes silently conveying, "How did this happen?"
He couldn't believe it. He had been so sure that today was the day he would finally get to sit next to Namjoon. But no such luck. Instead, he found himself sitting next to Taehyung, who was staring at him with a confused expression.
Mrs. Lee continued with the other seat assignments, but Jungkook's mind was elsewhere. How could this have happened? But both of them weren't aware of the fact that in his haste and excitement, he had mistakenly typed Taehyung's name instead of Namjoon. The irony of the situation wasn't lost on him. Fate seemed to be playing a cruel trick.
"Why? It's him again. This demon is always coming between me and Namjoon." He mumbled to himself.
The bell rang, mercifully putting an end to the tormenting class. Jungkook took a sip of his banana milk, eyes trained on Namjoon, who sat on the first bench of the same row engrossed in a book.
Meanwhile, Taehyung rested his head on his desk beside Jungkook. Jungkook was sipping banana milk and his eyes were focused on Namjoon who sat on the first bench of the same row and buried his head in a book and Taehyung was resting him by bowing down his head on his desk.
As Jungkook's eyes followed Namjoon, they widened when he saw him heading towards their bench.
Namjoon sat on a vacant seat in front of Taehyung and called his name "Tae".
