The morning sun cast long shadows through the classroom windows as Jungkook pushed open the door, his backpack slung over one shoulder. A grin split his face as he spotted Jimin across the room, his best friend already settled at their usual table while waving at him.
Jungkook also waved back at Jimin and made his way toward his desk. As he settled and kept his bag on his seat, he exchanged a cheerful good morning with his deskmate, Taehyung, who was already engrossed in a thick textbook, his brow furrowed in concentration.
"Hey, Good Morning," Jungkook greeted, sliding into the seat beside him.
Taehyung responded with a warm smile. Taehyung glanced up, his eyes crinkling at the corners as a slow smile spread across his face in response to Jungkook's greeting and focused back into his book.
Soon he turned to Jungkook and inquired, "Hey, what subjects do you feel like tackling first?". Jungkook pondered for a moment before deciding, "Let's start with English and then move on to Maths." Taehyung nodded in agreement, acknowledging Jungkook's choice, and refocused on his books.
Meanwhile, Jimin observed the interaction between his two friends with a suspicious eye.
After a brief conversation with Taehyung, Jungkook left his desk and went to talk to his friends. As he was about to sit, Jimin suddenly elbowed him, causing Jungkook to give him a questioning look.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's up, Jimin? Why the sudden interrogation?"
Jimin asked Jungkook about his unexpected chit-chat with Taehyung because everyone knew that the bookworm cold boy of the class who is famous for his cold nature, only talked and smiled with his only best friend, Namjoon.
Jimin replied and asked, "Oh, just curious about your little chat with Taehyung. Anything interesting going on?"
Eunwoo and Lisa, who had also noticed the exchange, joined in with questioning glances. Jungkook, instead of responding immediately, scrunched his nose and burst into laughter. The sudden change in his demeanor left Jimin, Lisa, and Eunwoo bewildered, exchanging deadly glares with the laughing bunny.
Lisa crossed her arms and asked with a poker face "Care to share the joke, Jungkook?"
Jungkook chuckled and shared, "You won't believe it when I tell you. It's a Taehyung thing."
When the laughter subsided, Jungkook finally revealed that, based on Mrs. Lee's suggestion, Taehyung had volunteered to be his tutor. Starting today, Taehyung would be giving him lessons during breaks and after school. The unexpected revelation initially shocked their friends, but they soon praised Taehyung for his kind gesture.
The school day continued, and after Mrs. Lee's class, she announced the upcoming sports day scheduled in two weeks. Wishing luck to the students, she left the classroom, leaving a buzz of excitement and anticipation behind.
As Mrs. Lee made her way out of the classroom, Namjoon, Taehyung's best friend, approached him and told him to join him in basketball practice.
'Hey, Tae! Wanna join me in a basketball match during this break? You coming?' Namjoon asked with a smile.
Taehyung hesitated for a moment before responding, 'Actually, I won't be able to make it this break. I have to tutor Jungkook as per Mrs. Lee's suggestion.'
Namjoon's eyes widened in surprise. 'Really? Are you going to tutor Jungkook? That's so nice of you. But what about football practice?'
'I'll join you guys during the lunch break. I don't want to miss out on the sports day practice,' Taehyung explained.Namjoon nodded and said while making a crying face "Got it, Taehyung. Priorities, huh? Good luck with the tutoring."
Taehyung sighed and moved his head left and right having an "I'm so done" expression after seeing Namjoon's dramatic reply and stated, "Just go. I can't tolerate your dramatic ass."
