The break time at Seoul Junior High was filled with the rhythmic sounds of bouncing basketballs and the energetic shouts of students. The basketball team was in full swing, practicing diligently for their upcoming match. The stadium echoed with the thud of sneakers against the court, creating an electric atmosphere that buzzed with anticipation. Jungkook, along with his lively best friend Jimin, opted for a different perspective. They settled into the stadium audience seats, taking in the spectacle of the basketball practice. Little did Jimin know that Jungkook's attention wasn't on the game but on someone else entirely—his crush, Namjoon.
It was break time at the junior high school, and the gym was bustling with excitement as the basketball team was practicing for their upcoming match. All the students were gathered around the court, cheering and encouraging their friends who were part of the team. Among the crowd sat two best friends, Jungkook and Jimin, who were taking in the sights and sounds of the basketball practice and enjoying the view.
"Where were Eunwoo and Lisa?" Jungkook inquired, turning his attention to Jimin. The excitement of the basketball match had propelled him directly to the grounds to cheer for Namjoon's team, leaving him oblivious to the whereabouts of Eunwoo and Lisa.
Jimin replied, "Well, Lisa mentioned to me that she and Eunwoo were heading to the library." Jungkook nodded in response, his lips forming a surprised "O" shape as he processed the information. The contrast between the bustling atmosphere of the basketball match and the quiet refuge of the library intrigued him.
As they sat in the stadium audience seats, Jungkook couldn't help but steal glances at Namjoon on the basketball court, his eyes following Namjoon's every move but was so engrossed in Namjoon that he didn't notice the actual star of the playground. He tried to focus on Jimin's animated gossip about Yoongi, but his mind kept drifting back to the captivating figure of Namjoon.
Jimin, blissfully unaware of Jungkook's internal struggle, continued to regale him with tales of Yoongi's antics. "You won't believe what Yoongi did yesterday! He tried to impress me with his basketball skills but ended up tripping over his own feet. It was hilarious! Although he is a good basketball player yet he tripped ". he said while laughing aloud.
Jungkook managed a distracted laugh, his attention still divided between Jimin's stories and Namjoon's skills. Just as he was about to immerse himself in the conversation, the sudden hooting from behind caught both of them off guard. It was only when Jimin nudged him and pointed towards the court that Jungkook snapped out of his daze.
He turned to see what had caught Jimin's attention and his breath hitched at the sight and their eyes widening at the unexpected spectacle. Taehyung, with effortless grace, pulled his t-shirt over his forehead, inadvertently revealing a physique that demanded attention. The action was unintentional, but it had caught everyone's attention, including Jungkook's.
The image of Taehyung's glistening abs and toned muscles was now stuck in Jungkook's mind, reminding him of a recent encounter he had with him in the bathroom. He couldn't help but blush at the memory and quickly shook his head to clear his thoughts. He didn't want to get caught staring and drooling over Taehyung again.
"Did you see that, Jungkook?" Jimin nudged him excitedly, completely absorbed in the spectacle.
Jungkook, momentarily lost in the memory of Taehyung's bathroom encounter, managed a distracted nod. "Yeah, incredible move."
"I didn't know that nerd boy has a dangerously hot body" Jimin blurted out and again talking animatedly about Yoongi. But Jungkook was lost in his own thoughts, unable to focus on what his friend was saying. He couldn't stop thinking about Taehyung.
As the practice continued, Jimin's words became a distant hum in Jungkook's ears. The image of Taehyung lingered, making it challenging for him to fully engage in the conversation. His thoughts wavered between the ongoing banter and the tantalizing memory, creating a delicate dance within his mind.
Just then, Namjoon made a goal and Jimin's voice pierced through the haze. "Jungkook! Look, Namjoon just scored a brilliant goal!"
The enthusiasm in Jimin's voice brought Jungkook back to the present, and the crowd erupted into cheers. Even Jungkook and Jimin couldn't help but join in, their voices blending with the rest of the students. As they clapped and cheered, Jungkook caught a glimpse of Namjoon looking in his direction with a smile on his face. Blushing, Jungkook quickly looked away, feeling his heart skip a beat.
But his attention was soon diverted when Jimin greeted someone from the row behind them. Jungkook turned to see who it was and was surprised to see Hoseok, Yoongi's best friend, standing there with a bright smile.
Jungkook turned to see Hoseok, a familiar face and Yoongi's best friend. "Jungkook, meet Jung Hoseok from another section of our class. He's here to cheer for Yoongi," Jimin introduced Hoseok to Jungkook with a friendly smile, and they struck up a conversation. Hoseok had come to cheer on his friend Yoongi and brought along his other friend Kim Seokjin.
After seeing Seokjin Jungkook was amazed by Seokjin's charm. "Oh God He is freaking handsome. I didn't notice him before, he must be trending topic among girls and boys in his class. But not more than my dimpled boy" he praised Seokjin and also sassed about his crush in his mind.
The climax of the practice brought forth an eruption of cheers as Taehyung made the last goal as Namjoon's team secured victory. Now the basketball practice came to an end, the students started to disperse, making their way back to their respective classrooms. Laughter and shared stories filled the air, temporarily pushing aside Jungkook's thoughts of Taehyung. Jungkook and Jimin bid farewell to Hoseok, promising to meet up again soon.
The rest of the day went by in a blur as Namjoon's smile, gifted to him on the playground, engraved itself in Jungkook's heart like a cupid's arrow. Jungkook found himself barely paying attention to his classes, lost in thoughts of how to initiate a conversation with Namjoon. However, time seemed to slip away unnoticed, and before he realized it, it was already time to head back home. Then Jungkook bid bye tohis friends and headed towards his home.
