Ch 9

The next morning I slowly start to come around feeling a warmth surrounding me I just starting to blink away the remaining feeling of tiredness when I realize I'm being enveloped by a pair of arms and am laying on a strong shoulder. Lifting my head up I see a sleeping Eric and immediately wince at the uncomfortable position he's in. My gaze then goes over to Harry who's wide awake he smiling at me when he realizes I'm awake. I blush a little in embarrassment before I gently tap Eric's shoulder to wake him up it taking a moment but he eventually wakes up and blinks the sleep away before he lifts his head wincing I immediately scolding him. "You shouldn't have slept in this chair all night with me on your lap you're probably so uncomfortable and sore." He gives me a little reassuring smile. "I'm fine Sander I just have to stretch it out." I sigh then carefully move and climb off his lap adjusting my scrubs. "I'm going to go have the nurse order Harry's food." I leave the room and go tell Jo to get Harry's breakfast before heading down to the cafeteria to get me and Eric food. I then rush back to the room and walk in handing Eric his food he thanking me. We then all eat breakfast together before I go to dig in the suitcase I had brought before heading to the bathroom and quickly freshen up. I then leave the bathroom only to look curious when I see Eric focused on his phone. "Everything alright?" He looks up and smiles at me. "Yeah the guys want to come see Harry." I blink a little looking over towards the small boy. "Do you think that's a good idea? Meeting ten people at once can be overwhelming especially in a small room." Eric gives a little nod and I say softly. "Let them know I'll bring him to practice when he's discharged." He nods relaying the message and I stretch when suddenly doctor Chang enters the room with a gentle knock he giving me a smile. "How's the patient?" I smile and say softly. "He's doing fine. I think we need to do some testing for his vocal cords though because he doesn't really talk and when he makes noises they come out weird." Doctor Chang looks curious before nodding. "We'll do a laryngoscope. That's very good Sander I'm impressed. Not many interns catch something like that." I blush and nod before bringing up nervously. "I also suggest putting him under because he'll fidget and not sit still and become really scared." Doctor Chang hums before nodding. "Good idea. We'll have his scope arranged and I'll get back to you." I nod thanking him and watch him leave before turning to Eric who has a frown and a weird look on his face. "You alright there?" He snaps out of it and then looks at me before clearing his throat. "I'm going to head back to the dorm for a little bit. I'll come back later but let me know if something happens or changes." I blink but nod and watch as he grabs his crutches and starts to maneuver his way through the room. Once he's gone I sigh feeling a slight pang in my chest as I take a seat beside Harry's bed distracting him and myself with playing and watching cartoons.

(Eric's Pov)

Leaving the room I head down to the lobby with my crutches I putting on a cap and mask before I head outside and over to Jacob hyungs car. I carefully get in the passenger seat feeling a little aggravated and annoyed as I buckle up Jacob looking at me in concern. "You alright Eric?" I'm quiet for a moment before I grumble a little bitterly. "The doctor who's working with Sander was flirting with him and Sander just stood there blushing the whole time. And the doctors just a little older than us and is really attractive." Jacob gives me a sympathetic look. "I'm sure it wasn't what it looked like. Sander's a shy person I'm sure he was just blushing because he was given attention not that he actually likes this doctor or anything." I frown a little before grumbling. "I hope so." Jacob starts driving then asks teasingly. "So how's it going with playing family?" My cheeks heat up a little and I give him a look. "Hyung we aren't playing family we're just helping a little boy who doesn't have anyone else." Jacob peeks over at me in amusement. "Yet I'm sure the hospital could have found some other authority figure to take care of him and help get him a home." I frown at that comment and give him a shake of my head. "He's a special needs child and so far Sander is the only person that can communicate and understand him because he only knows American Sign Language." Jacob looks curious as he parks at our dorm. "So he's a Korean child but only speaks American Sign Language? Was he kidnapped and brought here or did he have someone teach it to him?" I shrug. "We don't know but Sander is having people at the hospital looking into it." He nods and we get out of the car heading inside when Kevin looks up and smirks at me. "What finally get tired of playing family?" I roll my eyes in annoyance. "Why does everyone keep saying that I'm playing family? I'm just helping a little boy who doesn't have anyone else." They all give each other looks I raising an eyebrow at them all. "Well you gotta admit that it is like being a little family. And you also gotta admit that you'd want Sander to be your husband." My face flushes red at Sunwoo's words and I give him a look. "I'm going to go clean up and pack a bag." I quickly hobble to mine and Younghoon's room grabbing some clean clothes then go shower and everything. Once I'm clean and dressed I go back to mine and Younghoon's room then pack a bag before receiving a text from Sander I opening it only to feel a pit in my stomach at the message

I quickly grab the packed bag and rush to the living room as fast as I can saying seriously. "Jacob hyung I need to get to the hospital now somethings wrong." Everyone looks at me worriedly as Jacob grabs his keys. "What's wrong?" I shake my head heading for the door. "I don't know but Sander texted me the words SOS and to get there immediately." The others wish me luck as I get in the van and Jacob speeds me back to the hospital.
