Ch 7

(Sander's Pov)

Waking up I groggily start to open my eyes wondering what woke me only to immediately see the little fox hybrid boy awake and sitting up in the large hospital bed. I give him a little smile feeling exhausted and stiff from sleeping in a hospital chair all night. "Hey there little man. How do you feel?" He signs to me that he feels okay and his arm doesn't hurt anymore I smiling happily. "Good. Are you hungry?" He perks up a little at the mention of food and signs a little hesitantly asking if he can have food my heart immediately hurting. "Of course sweetheart." I get up and poke my head out the door getting the attention of the nurse named Jo to ask her to bring Harry some food she immediately assuring me she'll be right back with breakfast. I then turn back to the small boy who seems to be looking around for something before he looks at me and signs with a pout asking where hyung is I assuming he's talking about Eric. "Sorry little man he had to go home. But he'll come visit again soon." His pout deepens and I smile softly taking a quick picture of him before sending it to Eric.

Me: *inserts photo* someone was looking for you when he woke up. He misses his hyung.

I wait a few minutes before he replies I smiling softly at what he says.

Eric: Aww poor little guy. I'll come over to see him. I'm on my way now.

I shake my head a little smiling before looking at Harry after texting Eric the floor and room number. "Eric hyung is coming to see you he'll be here soon okay?" He immediately perks up at that and smiles happily his little tail swaying around. Soon Jo comes in with a tray of food and sets it on a table she lowered down for the tiny boy. He looks at the food wide eyed like it's the most amazing meal he's ever gotten and my heart aches as he starts eating eagerly. I frown slightly as he starts to scarf down the small amount of eggs I saying softly. "Hey now slow down or you'll choke." He seems to reluctantly slow down and finishes the eggs before signing to me thanking me for feeding him. "Of course sweetheart if you're hungry just tell me and we'll go get you something to eat." His eyes widen in awe and disbelief I immediately feeling my heart break before gathering Harry's little tray of food and hand it off to Jo outside. I then spot Eric making his way down the hallway I immediately smiling and wave him over. "Hey you made it!" He gives me a smile back before asking worriedly. "How's little man?" I give him a small reassuring smile. "He just finished breakfast. But I almost cried because he thanked me for feeding him and seems shocked he can have more food." Eric frowns a little. "Poor little guy." I nod in agreement then lead him inside the room where I get Harry's attention who was staring at the tv. "Harry look who's here!" He turns his head away from the tv only to smile happily starting to bounce on his little bed and signs excitedly I chuckling a little. "He's saying hi and that he's feeling better. And he wants you to sign his cast." Eric smiles at the tiny boy I handing him a sharpie and he goes to Harry's side signing the casted left arm. Once Eric is done he suddenly pulls a Rubix cube out and sits down beside Harry. "You wanna see something cool?" Harry nods eagerly looking curious then Harry and I both watch in amazement as Eric solves the cube insanely fast. Once he's done Harry claps his little hands with a smile and I watch with a soft smile as he starts showing Harry how to solve it my heart bursting with admiration seeing this side of Eric. He suddenly looks up and meets my gaze giving me a bright smile and I feel my stomach twist with butterflies I giving a small smile back before my phone goes off I reluctantly excusing myself to go answer my sister. She scolds me for staying at the hospital all night until I tell her about the little boy I found. She agrees that I can stay there with him and that she'll bring me some things that I need. I thank her before heading back inside hearing giggles and I look curious only to see Eric making silly faces for Harry making him laugh it sounding weird like usual. I smile softly then see Harry's eyes starting to droop I checking to see it should be around nap time for a five year old I approaching the two. "You should get some sleep little man." He immediately pouts and shakes his head no. I raise an eyebrow before saying to try and convince him. "If you don't sleep then you won't get big and strong." He still gives a stubborn head shake and I sigh starting to gently tuck him in. "How about a story?" He looks up at me a little pleadingly before signing asking me to sing him a song. I immediately feel a little embarrassed but I clear my throat and start to softly sing a little lullaby. I see Harry's eyes droop more and more until he falls asleep against the pillows and I smile softly only to look over and blush when I see Eric staring at me. "What?" He tilts his head a little. "You have a really nice voice." I immediately shift a little shyly. "Thanks. Can we head out to talk? I don't wanna wake him up." Eric nods and grabs his crutches before we head out of the room I looking at Eric with a little sigh. "I'm gonna take over for Harry and be his temporary guardian. I'll just have to stay at the hospital for a while." Eric looks at me before offering sweetly. "I can come watch him sometimes to help out. You shouldn't put this much responsibility on your shoulders." I give him a little appreciative smile. "Thanks but don't you have a busy schedule?" He gives me a reassuring look. "I'll be out of commission for a while anyways because of my knee so I can help out." I give a slow nod. "Alright as long as it doesn't interfere with your career or anything." He smiles then goes to say something when doctor Chang suddenly walks over looking at me. "Sander I could really use your help right quick. We got a man in his early thirties that came in from a car crash and it's all hands on deck." I frown but look over at Eric. "Can you stay with little man for a while please?" He nods assuring me he'll take care of him and I thank him appreciatively before getting up and follow doctor Chang downstairs. I follow him over to a curtain and we walk in doctor Chang getting the man's attention. "Hello I'm doctor Chang and this is doctor Yamamoto who's here to assist me." The man's eyes go to me and he immediately starts getting aggressive when I approach. "Get that animal freak away from me it's unnatural!" I frown slightly pausing in place as the man gives me a look of disgust. "I don't want some genetic mutant to be touching me or working on me." I go to say something when doctor Chang gives me a sympathetic look. "You should leave Sander." I give a little nod and leave the room before heading back upstairs feeling a little upset that I couldn't help.
