**Sorry that this chapter is a bit late. There should be another one out this week**

The next days passed uneventful. They also passed with no sighting of Scar. It was worrying me. I heard Sage walk into the office where I was going over the plans for the new Pack House.

"Aunt Kenzie, can we go play?" She asked me, standing next to my desk.

"Not now, Sage. Where's your mom?"

"She and daddy went outside."

"I'm sorry, Sage, but I can't play. I'm the alpha now. That means I have to work." I explained with a sigh.

"That's boring." Sage griped, crossing her arms over her chest.

"It's my job." I chuckled.

I reached down and picked her up. She sat on my lap and viewed the blueprints.

"Ooh, what's this?" She pondered, her eyes exploring the papers.

I wasn't too sure how to explain the concept of a pack house. "Its just a building that Gabe and I are having built." I told her, taking a swig from the can of Dr. Pepper on my desk.

"When are you and Gabe getting married?" I nearly choked on the Dr. Pepper.

"What?"

"Aren't you and Gabe mates?"

"How do you know about mates?" I asked her, giving her my full attention.

"Mommy explained it."

"Yeah, we're mates." I answered.

"So you guys have to get married." She smiled in amusement.

"We're not getting married, Sage." I giggled.

"You're no fun." She complained with a long sigh.

She hopped off my lap and ran into the living room to watch TV. My heart was still beating. She's just a little girl. I shook away my thoughts. I yawned and then brought my attention back to the blueprints. I heard the front door open.

"Hey, princess." I heard Gabe as he walked into the office.

"Hello." I sighed.

"What on Earth are you working on that you're giving me the cold shoulder?" He asked me, standing next to me.

"Just, reviewing the blueprints, that's all." I admitted. "Sorry." I smiled, standing up and pecking him on the lips.

"I forgive you." He grinned widely. He pulled up a stool by my chair. "So, what is there to review? They're already started constructing it."

"I don't know, I just want it to be perfect." I shrugged, not knowing why exactly I was so obsessed with making the Pack House turn out how I wanted it.

"I think it'll be perfect. You picked out the, well the everything for it." He laughed.

"What are you talking about? You and everyone else pitched in ideas."

"But the alpha female made it happen." He retorted.

I rolled my eyes.

"So, have you seen Scar?" I questioned.

"Not since the party, no." He replied.

I leaned back in my chair and put a hand up to my mouth. "Oh, I hope she's alright." I admitted. "I still think we ought to send out a party after her."

"She'll probably be back later today. If not, then you can send out a search party." He told me, resting his hands on my shoulders. "Want to show me what the offices are gonna look like again?" He requested.
