Grace smiled in approval and turned to leave the room. As she left, Emily enter. She slowly walked over to me.
"You've got a lot of nerve, coming in here." I muttered.
"How is she?" She asked me, ignoring my comment.
"I don't know, I hope she'll be alright." I replied bitterly towards Emily.
"Have you considered that they're going to come back to finish the job?" She wondered quietly.
"Shut it, blood sucker." I said back to her.
"I found some more information for you." She whispered.
"What do you mean?" I asked her.
"There is a rogue-." She was cut off.
Henry came in and gave us an update. I stood up as fast as I could and looked at him eagerly.
"Gabriel, Mackenzie is going to be completely back to normal, except for two tiny side effects." He told me.
"What kind of side effects?" I asked him.
"Nightmares will be a huge side effect... and she will probably refuse the marking for a few months.." Henry told me.
"She'll get sick if we delay it too long!" I shouted.
"I'm sorry Gabe, I've done all I can." Henry replied before he and Emily left me and Mackenzie alone.
I let my heart slow down. My mate was sleeping, and I could hear her heart beating. I planted a kiss on her forehead. I saw Emily walk in.
"I left my bag here." She told me awkwardly.
I looked in the hall. No one was there. I grabbed Emily's arm harshly.
"Ow!" She exclaimed.
"What were you trying to say before? And what wouldn't you tell me at your house." I growled.
"Let go of me!" She pleaded.
"No, you need to tell me anything you know that can help her." I hissed.
I heard Rema rush in glare.
"What is she doing here?" I snarled.
"She came with me." Emily muttered.
"Let go of her, mutt!" Rema demanded.
I heard Zeke come in and separate us.
"Emily, you and Rema need to leave. Dalton isn't here, so you have no business being in our territory." Zeke ordered.
I watched the leeches leave before sitting back down on the chair next to Mackenzie. I let out a breath to call myself before brushing a strand of Mackenzie's hair to the side of her face. I heard Mackenzie yawn as her eyelids opened slightly.
Mackenzie's POV
I groggily opened my eyelids and let the light pour into them. Gabe was right over me, I smiled and wrapped my arms around him.
"You're still here?" I inquired.
"I'm here Mack, I'll always be here." He promised.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked.
"A few hours." He said.
"Were you here the entire time?" I asked.
"Of course. I couldn't leave you in here alone." He told me, cupping my cheek in his hand. "I have some good news." He smiled.
