"Mackenzie, what happened?" Gabe asked desperately again.

I shook my head as a lump caught in my throat. I simply stared at him. The touch of a soothing, yet rough hand grazed my shoulder. I looked up, but it only caused more tears to teem in my eyes. I shakily rose, turning away Gabe's hand when he offered it.

"Kenzie?"

"Why don't you ask Zeke?" I hissed bitterly.

I stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind me. There was one person I wanted to see. Scar. She had lied to me. She had said that there were no more packs on the side of the country. apparently the Gemini pack was still intact. I roam around my house searching for her. When I make it onto the deck, I noticed her cotton-candy-twisted hair as she laid on a pool chair.

"Scar!" I shouted with as much force as I could collect at the time. She looked at me curiously.

"Are you alright Mackenzie? You seem a bit steamed." she noticed, removing the large designer sunglasses from her eyes to look at me.

I laughed at that with irritation as I rested my hands on my hips. "You bet that I'm steamed." I growled, glaring at her.

"What ever is the problem-"

"The problem, is you." I explained, feeling my body heat up in raw anger. "You lied to me and my pack. We could have had help days ago. Heck! Probably weeks ago!" I shouted in rage.

"What are you going on about?" She wondered, clueless.

"You said that there were no more packs. That we were the last one."

She puzzled my comment for a moment. "Mackenzie, you are the last pack." she replied with confidence in her tone.

"Apparently not! My brother just made a deal with the Gemini pack. A deal that offers protection but can ruin my life. Actually, not just my life! It will ruin some innocent little girl's life too!" I wasn't sounding angry by this point. It was more of desperation for answers and despair.

"What?"

"Does your father know about the Gemini pack?" I muttered, exhaling loudly.

"I don't think he's even heard of the Gemini pack. Are they weak?"

"Weak?" I laughed. "Next to our pack, they are one of the strongest ones out there."

"In all my years, I never heard of them." she pondered over and over, replaying my words in her head. I could sense it.

"Why don't you just leave? I think it's time you left anyway." I sighed.

"What?" She gasped in shock. "Mackenzie, I am a part of your pack now. How could you say you could just kick me out?" She murmured.

A door closed as someone joined us.

"Mackenzie, I get you're upset, but sending Scar away isn't going to solve anything." I heard Zeke sigh. "How could she have known?" He asked me.

I turned at my heel to glare at him, shaking off his question. "I thought you were learning to put family first, but you care too much about being the alpha to even think about what it could be like for my daughter. You know I am 100% against arranged marriage." I was glaring at him, a few inches from his face. My body was radiating heat like a match. "You are just a selfish, no-good-"

"-Young lady!" Mom's words halted my sentence.

It struck me with surprise, to hear mom scold me. It was a sound I had failed to hear for the past few years. I didn't know what to do. Talk back? Cry? Continue? The words that left my mouth shocked me.
