Although we could have gone in wolf form, we thought it would be better to take the car. I got a few comments about my old Toyota, but I was used to them by now, so I decided to ignore them and just roll my eyes.

Another reason for going in human form was that we wanted to attract as little attention as possible, and this way we could be sure that the scent masking spray would work for as long as we needed it to.

I still felt bad that Tobias didn't know what was coming, but on the other hand, I was excited to see him as I really had no idea when I would get the chance to see him again after today.

"It's going to be okay," Sam's voice soothed in my head. I cracked a smile at that, but my joy didn't last long as he immediately added. "I mean, right after Cobe and I tell him every embarrassing thing about you."

I chose not to respond, and I had no doubt that he moved right to Cobe's head to inform him of his plan.

It wasn't long before I spotted the parking area. It was the same one where I had left my car before our first date and that thought filled me with mixed feelings. I didn't get to dwell on them for long, though, because the moment I turned off the engine, everyone rushed out of the car.

"Where to now?" Mason turned to me as soon as I got out.

"Give me a second."

I thought about calling but decided against it and went back to the conversation with Tobias. I was surprised that he hadn't texted me again after I hadn't texted him back, as it was unlike him, but I decided to ignore it.

Colby: Still in the park?

Your future husband Tobias: Yeah

Your future husband Tobias: Kids are having fun on the playground

Your future husband Tobias: Why?

It wasn't nice of me, but again, I didn't write back. I would have liked to warn him we were coming, but that would have gone against Mason's orders, so I could only hope he wouldn't be angry with me.

"They're at the playground," I uttered out loud instead, putting the phone back in my pocket so it wouldn't tempt me.

"Whose children does he even have with him?"

"You'll see." I waved my hand and walked past them. Thankfully, they understood and automatically joined me without further questions. It didn't take long and we were just a few steps away from the side of the park where the playground was.

Before I saw Tobias, however, I smelled his scent and then heard a child's laughter. But before I could assess the situation, I heard quick footsteps approaching.

"Uncle Cole!" Lily was in front of me in a hurry, and I just had time to duck down so she could throw herself into my arms.

"Hi, Lily." She gave me a big smile, and I returned it immediately. I'd gotten used to the title in the few weeks, and I won't lie, it still managed to warm my heart.

Lily seemed content in my arms, but it only took a second for her attention to shift. "You look like Uncle Cole," she said, and I looked over my shoulder, even though I knew exactly who the words were directed at.

"That's because I'm his brother." Cobe smiled at her.

"Lily." Tobias appeared in a second, and if the presence of unfamiliar men around his niece made him uncomfortable, he didn't show it.

At the sound of her name, Lily immediately indicated that she wanted to go down, and I let her go. She ran straight over to the little fair-haired boy who was partially hidden behind Tobias' legs.
