Chapter 21: Welcome, dear passengers...and cats

Preparations for their departure were way more joyful now that they knew that their resident cat would accompany them. 5 members out of the 6 were sharing Yoongi's worries as they learnt soon after their boss's phone call that the cat would have to fly in cargo with other animals. On the contrary, one of them had a plan to help their hybrid feel calm on their 13 hour flight from Seoul towards their first tour destination: New York.

As the group got off the vehicle, cameras flashed instantly, paparazzis intending to take as much pictures as they could do announce the fact that they were leaving South Korea. All 6 of them were dressed fashionably, shades of blacks, greys, whites and greens were seen as all 6 wore masks to protect what little privacy they had left. Unfortunately, Yoongi was with their staff, boarding on another side of the building so their suitcases wouldn't get stolen and the people accompanying them wouldn't have problems with the dozens of armys presently fangirling in the airport. The only staff following the band were their security guards, safely putting a distance between the idols and their fans. Politely, the 6 members waved and acquiesced people with a short and small bow here and there. They walked confidently towards their gate and. boarded safely.

Yoongi definitely did not like being stuck in a cage for the 2nd time. He was in a sour mood and he was stressed, being away from his friends did not help either. His tail swooshed from left to right and his ears were pressed down, he observed the people who walked pass him and the unknown people he was given to when everyone met at Big Hit before leaving. A woman with a child walked towards him with a soft look on her face, her child saying things unknown to him while looking excited. Their behaviour caught Yoongi's attention as he realized they were coming straight for him, he lowly hissed and backed away in his cage, not wanting a stranger to touch him.

"Hello Ma'am, can my little wangji pet your cat?" The woman asked in broken Korean to a staff member whose attention was turned to the duo standing next to her. 

"I'm sorry but he can't, this cat is a little frightened right now and I don't wish any injuries upon your child. Furthermore, the cat is someone else's property and I have direct instructions to not let anyone touch him." The staff bowed to the woman who nodded in understanding and bid her  a good rest of their day and a good flight while reasoning with her child. "Wangji, you can pet your rabbits when we're home in Gusu, okay? This little one isn't happy right now and he doesn't want to make friends with other people" Said the women in mandarin. "alright 'ma..." sadly answered the child who took his mother's hand and walked away with her to their gate. 

Un-tensing after the two went away, Yoongi heard footsteps to his right, their owners unidentified because the cat couldn't see through his cage. Even though he could only hear them, he knew these belonged to the BTS members, their walk patterns were something Yoongi got quickly used to along with their familiar voices as they whispered and laughed together.

"Yoonie! We missed you buddy!" Said a happy Jimin as he walked towards his feline's cage, the cat curiously looking at him, not used to see him with a mask and a formal attire. "You look tense Yoon. Director, maybe we should cover his cage with a blanket so he doesn't stress more?" Their director, having hear his name being called and having listened to their demand, nodded his head in confirmation. "I'll do it!" Shouted Jimin, quickly taking their cat's cage and bringing him to the staff's car to get a blanket and cover him.

"I hope he isn't panicking too much" Quietly spoke Jungkook, who couldn't help but worry for Yoongi who was all alone with other stressed animals stacked over his cage. 

"Yeah... I bet he's confused.." Answered Jimin, anxiously waiting for the plane to start. Sweat was dropping from his forehead as he complained about being too hot. He seemed uncomfortable as he held his torso weirdly. "Hyung, take off that huge sweater, you'll feel better." Answered the maknae. "I can't." Whispered Jimin, looking around. A little 'Mrweow?' sounded weirdly close to Jimin. Jungkook's eyes widened as he looked at his hyung, elements clicking together in his head. "OMG, you didn't-" He whisper-shouted as a laugh threatened to escape his throat. "Shush! If they know they'll take him back to cargo" Jimin answered as Yoongi's small head popped out of the boy's sweater, clear confusion written in his face.

Earlier that day, Yoongi was taken out of his cage by an anxious Jimin. The boy looked at him and spoke seriously. "Yoongi, I need you to stay hidden in my jacket, there's no way you're spending 13 hours in cargo alone. I'll hide you and keep you comfortable." The cat pawed at Jimin's face as if to say 'I understand, go ahead' and that was all the band member needed to literally stuff him in his sweater.

"Hyung! You're unbelievable!" snorted the youngest as he calmly petted their cat. "I'll help you hide him! Let's make Yoongi enjoy his flight properly."

And then the plane flew and Yoongi spent the next few hours being amazed at the clouds, sleeping, trying to annoy his friends and purring because they kept petting him, wondering what the next few days held for him and the band.
