chapter 9: Recognizing remorse

These days, Hobi has become like a fifth member of the Kim family.
Notably, "Hobi" has become a constant presence in Taehyung's conversations. It seems like he mentions Hobi's name more frequently than his mother'^_⁠^. But this change in behavior is warmly accepted by the Kim family, especially Mrs. Kim, who finds joy in witnessing a more lively Taehyung who is now willing to engage in friends' hangouts and parties.
She always wished for her little prince, Taehyung, to lead this life filled with freedom and enjoyment.

Mrs. Kim, in constant appreciation to Mrs. Jung, she portrayed Hobi as an angelic figure who had positively influenced her little boy.

The Jung family was pleased to hear such sentiments, even though Taehyung hadn't formed particularly close bonds with them, as they held a fondness for the little boy.

In university too Taehyung has undergone a complete change in personality. He, who once avoided engaging in conversations, now actively participates in group projects. While he maintains a certain distance, not overly friendly, he makes an effort to be part of their discussions. Despite being aware of their tendency for double-faced behavior and back-bitching, Taehyung still attempts to navigate to the social dynamics around him.

One afternoon:-
Taehyung and hobi as usual were coming from the university.

Taehyung: "You know... then Jimin punched Yoongi hyung as he slept when Jimin was proposing 🤣" - saying so, he laughed out loud. Listening to it, Hobi too burst out laughing. They were in front of the gate, engaged in their laughter, when Hobi noticed Taehee standing on the balcony, looking at Taehyung. She had a small smile, and her eyes contained an unknown happiness upon seeing her brother's laughter.

He observed her for a moment. When her eyes met Hobi's, she quickly diverted her gaze.

Taehyung: "And... and.... Yoongi hyung reasoned that Jimin spoke too long messages about love..." Taehyung was laughing and clinging to Hobi, eagerly waiting for his reaction. But with Hobi's lack of response, Taehyung called out, "Hobii.... What are you looking upwards.... Listen naaa..."

Hobi: "Huh...ha....haaaaaa" - he startled but quickly diverted Taehyung's attention by laughing madly.

After leaving Taehyung at his home, Hobi was heading out of the gate when he diverted his gaze upwards. Taehee was still seated there. After looking at her for a moment, Hobi proceeded towards his own home.Taehyung had hinted at the conflicting nature of his relationship with his family but never openly discussed it. He consistently avoided conversations about his family, especially when it came to his sister.

Hobi has observed that Taehyung consistently avoids his sister's presence and dislikes any situation where he has to converse with her. On the other hand, he has noticed Taehee looking at him with eyes filled with guilt. It seems like she wants to convey something, recognizing an unknown remorse within herself.

Hobi desired to mend the conflict between the siblings. He noticed Taehyung's detachment from his family. For Hobi, family is like the first friend and the closest people. Despite Taehyung portraying indifference, Hobi has also observed moments when Taehyung looked at his parents with a certain longing, especially when they speak freely.

Apart from wanting to resolve the conflict, Hobi too found himself wanting to know more about Taehee. He couldn't pinpoint why, but every time he looked into Taehee's melancholic eyes, he felt a subtle tightening of his heart.

With the determination to address things, Hobi went to sleep, contemplating the necessity to speak to Taehee.
