THE SHIRE

The hobbits were now home, Grace couldn't believe it.  Grace and Sam went home and there they were greeted by their parents and all their siblings.

The same evening the gang went to the pub to celebrate being home.  It was such a odd feeling to be at home and not having to worry about that something bad is going to happen.

She watches her brother looking at Rosie, the girl he has had crush on for years.  Grace looks at him.  "Go to her."  He nods.  Suprisingly he takes a sip of his beer and walks up to her.   Grace looks at the boys and everyone laughs.  She sees Merry smiling at her and she smiles at him too.

They have now been home for a few months, Sam is dating Rosie.  Grace has been hanging out with Merry have become really closer, closer than they have ever been before.

It's now been a year and Sam is getting married to Rosie.  Watching her twin marrying the girl of his dreams  makes her so happy but she also knows this hurts Frodo who still has feelings for Sam.

Grace catches Merry's eyes and she smiles at him, it feels different.  She feels something for him she has never felt before.  Is Grace Gamgee falling for Meriadoc Brandybuck?

A few days later,  Grace and Merry are taking a walk together.

"Merry?" Grace asks.  Merry looks at her.  "Yes."   Grace stops in her tracks and looks at him.  "Do you remember when we were in the forest, right before me, Frodo and Sam left, do you remember what you said."   Merry nods.  "I do."   Grace takes a breath.  "Did you mean it."

Merry looks at her before nodding.  "I always have."  Grace becomes quiet.  "Why are you asking me this?"  Merry asks.  Grace sighes.  "We grew up together and i only saw you as a friend, and then i met Haldir and then he died. And since we got home me and you have come really close, closer than we haver ever been before and now..."   Merry cuts her off.  "And now?" He looks at her with hopeful eyes.  She takes a deep breath.  "And now when i look at you i feels something i have never felt before.  I...  i feel the same."

Merry is shocked, he can't believe what he's hearing.  "What?"  Grace breathes out.  "I feel the same."  Merry shakes his head.  "No i need you to say it, i need you to say the words because otherwise i won't believe you."

Grace takes a step closer to Merry and holds his hands.  "I.. I have feelings for you Merry, i love you."  He can't believe it.  "You love me?"   She nods.  "Yes."  Merry without thinking kisses her and she kisses him back.  He pulls away shortly after.  "I can't believe this is happening."  Grace smiles.  "Me neither."  And they kiss once again.

It's now three years later  and Grace couldn't be happier.  She and Merry are married and expecting their first child.

Bilbo was dying but he had gotten a special gift from the elfs, a place on the last ship leaving middle earth and to the undying lands.   Gandalf arrived to the shire with a carriage.  Grace rode the carriage with Bilbo and Frodo as the other hobbits rode their horses.

"Frodo.. is there any chance of seeing that old ring of mine again?"  Bilbo asks Frodo.

Frodo looks at Grace who are sitting on the other side of the carriage and she just looks at them both with sympathy.  "I'm sorry, uncle.  I'm afraid i lost it."   Grace sighes, she can tell how much the ring still affects Frodo.   "Oh, pity.  I should like to have held it one last time."  Bilbo puts his head on Frodo's shoulder and closes his eyes and Frodo does aswell,  Grace just smiles at them.

They have now arrived to the harbor,  Frodo and Grace are holding each of Bilbo's arm to help him walk to the harbor where the ship is.   Merry, Pippin, Sam and Gandalf are walking behind them.

"Oh! Well here's a sight i have never seen before."  Bilbo tells them as they see Elrond, Galadriel and Celeborn standing by the ship.  Bilbo bows to them.

"The power of the three things is ended. The time has come for the dominion of men."  Galadriel tells them.   "The sea calls us home."  Elrond speaks in elvish to Bilbo.

Bilbo smiles nodding.  "I think.. I'm quite ready for another adventure."  With that Bilbo walks up to Elrond and they walk on the ship together.   Galadriel and Celeborn walk on the ship aswell.

Gandalf turns to them.  "Farewell, my brave hobbits.  My work is now finished.  Here at last on the shores of sea comes the end of our fellowship."  Grace looks at him, tears streaming down her face.

"I will not say do not weep for not all tears are an evil."  Gandalf tells them before walking towards the ship.

But right before he walks on, he turns back to them.  "It is time Frodo."

Grace and the others turns to Frodo.  "What is he talking about Frodo?"  Grace asks him confused.

Frodo looks at her.  "We set out to save the shire Grace and it has been saved.  But not for me."

Grace shakes her head.  "No, Frodo please don't. You're my best friend, i can't do this without you."   Frodo smiles and he gives her the book he had written.  "The last pages are for you Grace."   Grace just sobs.   Frodo turns to the other hobbits and hugs them to then go back to Grace.

He pulls her into the biggest hug, she holds him so tight, not wanting to let him go.  "Take care of them for me, okay?"   Grace nods.  "I will."   Frodo pulls away and walks towards Gandalf, walking towards the ship.   Merry walking up to Grace, holding her hand.

Before Frodo walks on the ship, he turn around and look at his friends one last time before he walks on the ship and they watches as the ship sails away.

Grace takes a deep breath, still holding Merry's hand she turns to their friends.  "Let's go home."  They walk from the harbor together, to go home,  to the Shire.

Grace and Merry spend the rest of their lives together living in the Shire raising their six children Frodo, Hildi, Nemista, Wulfhard, Magnus and Magnolia.  After many years of being married, Merry died.   Grace spend a few more years in the Shire before taking a ship to the undying lands.

But what happended to the other members of the fellowship?

Isla and Yéreana returned to Rivendell with their son Míririon.  They had two more children together Boromir and Gwynneth.

After the war Galadhien and Legolas traveled all over Middle earth.  They went to Ronan and found the potrait of Galadhien's birth mother.  They found the village outside of Rivendell where Galadhien was born.  They then settled down in Mirkwood and when Thranduil died, they became the king and queen of the woodland realm.

Shortly after the war ended Joanna was crowned queen of Rohan and her cousin Éomer she chose as her advisor and personal guard.   She married Princess Lothíriel a few years later.

The story of Grace Gamgee,  Galadhien, Yéreana and Joanna of Rohan has now ended, the women of the fellowship.
