Dean had gone down to talk to Sam. I was upstairs with Bobby.

"I don't know what to do, Bobby." I said.

"There's nothing you can do. Just have to let him dry out." he said.

"He screams all the time. Part of me wants to go down there and let him out. But I know he needs this." I said.

"Just stay strong, if not for you, for him. He's your best friend. He's going to need you." he said. I walked over to him and hugged him.

"We'll get through this kiddo." he said. I walked back over to the couch and sat down.

Dean walked back upstairs. He came and sat next to me. Bobby poured us all glasses of whisky.

"Guys! Get down here! Something's coming!" Sam screamed from downstairs. "Don't. No, no, don't. Don't, don't. No—stop! Stop! Alastair—please. Please."

He kept screaming and I just downed my glass of whisky.

"Stop! Stop!" he yelled.

I poured myself another glass.

"How long is this gonna go on?" Dean asked Bobby.

"Here, let me look it up in my demon-detox manual. Oh wait. No one ever wrote one. No telling how long it'll take. Hell, or if Sam will even live through it." Bobby said and then his phone rang and he picked up.

"Hello. ...Suck dirt and die, Rufus. You call me again, I'll kill you." he said and hung up.

"What's up with Rufus?" I asked.

"He knows." Bobby said. The phone rang again and Bobby picked up. "I'm busy, you son of a bitch. This better be important."

"Those two are so weird." I whispered to Dean. When Bobby finally finished talking, he showed us some news.

"The news. The news ain't good." Bobby said.

"This is what Rufus called about? 'Key West sees ten species go extinct'." Dean asked.

"Yep. Plus Alaska. Fifteen-man fishing crew all stricken blind, cause unknown. New York, teacher goes postal, locks the door, kills exactly sixty-six kids. All this in a single day. I looked them up. There's no doubt about it. They're all seals. Breaking. Fast." Bobby said.

"How many are left?" I asked.

"Who knows? Can't be many. Where the hell are your angel pals?" Bobby asked.

"You tell me." Dean said.

"I'm just wondering." Bobby said.

"What?" I asked.

"The apocalypse being nigh and all...is now really the right time to be having this little domestic drama of ours?" Bobby asked.

"What do you mean?" Dean asked.

"Well, I don't like this any more than you do, but Sam can kill demons. He's got a shot at stopping Armageddon." Bobby said.

"So what? Sacrifice Sam's life, his soul, for the greater good? Is that what you're saying? Times are bad, so let's use Sam as a nuclear warhead?" Dean said,

"Look, I know you hate me for suggesting it. I hate me for suggesting it. I love that boy like a son. All I'm saying is maybe he's here right now instead of on the battlefield because we love him too much." Bobby said.

Dean went outside and tried calling Castiel. I stayed inside with Bobby.

I started laughing.

"What?" Bobby asked, worried.
