Dean kept messing with the radio and I was about ready to shoot him.
"The radio around here sucks." he said.
"Come on man." Sam said.
"Jobs don't get much sweeter than this, you know? Dead vic with a gnawed-On neck, body drained of blood, and a witness who swears up and down that it was a vampire." Dean said.
"So sensitive." I said sarcastically.
"No, I -- I agree. It's a hell of a case." Sam said.
"A little more gusto, please." Dean said.
"It's just...The world is coming to an end. Things are a little complicated, you know?" Sam said.
"Yeah, well, we can't save the world, not today anyway. But what we can do is chop off some vamps' heads. Come on, man, it's like the good old days, an honest-To-Goodness monster hunt. It's about time the Winchesters got back to tackling." Dean said.
We made it to the town. Polka music played. We stepped out of the Impala and adjusted our suits.
"We still got to see the new 'Raiders' movie." Dean said.
"Saw it." Sam and I said at the same time. We both looked at eachother.
"Without me?" Dean asked.
"You were in hell." I said.
"That's no excuse." Dean said. He looked off. "Big pretzel!"
Sam smiled and shook his head. I gave Dean a five dollar bill and he went and bought three pretzels.
"Thank you." he said to the vendor.
"Thank you." Sam said as Dean handed everyone their pretzels.
"Guten tag." a woman said to us.
"'Guten tag' yourself." Dean said and I hit the back of his head.
"Girlfriend." I said with a sarcastic smile.
"Mmm, looks like that's our man." Sam pointed to a man in uniform. We walked to him, me behind the boys.
"Sheriff Dietrich." Sam said.
"Are you the boys from the fed?" the sheriff asked.
"Agent Anges, McKinnon, and Young." Sam said and I stepped around them and we showed him our badges.
"We called ahead about your, uh, problem." I said.
"Right. Um...I'll tell you what, why don't we talk this out away from the crowd, huh?" the sheriff said.
We went to the morgue. The sheriff pulled out the body covered by a sheet.
"Marissa Wright, 26,just up from Lockhard for the 'fest.Terrible. Just terrible. It's the last thing is town needs at peak tourist season." the sheriff said as he pulled back the sheet.
"Definitely the last thing Marissa Wright needed." I said.
"What the hell?" Dean said as he marked two dark puncture marks, like a vampire movie's depiction of bites.
"Yeah, you got me -- I mean, this killer's some kind of grade-'A' wacko, right? I mean, some satan-Worshiping, Anne Rice-Reading, gothic, psycho vampire wannabe." the sheriff said.
"Sheriff, in your report, you mentioned a witness." I asked.
"Yeah, I wished I didn't. But our witness insisted. That's Ed Brewer. Not exactly what you'd call reliable." the sheriff said.
We went to the bar, which our witness liked to frequent. The woman from earlier saw us.
"I remember you." she said.
