Ginny and Charles have now been gone for 2 weeks. In those two weeks they've been having fun where I'm sat on my ass doing nothing. Or working. My job is at The Cafe Paris, serving at the counter, mostly coffee and sweet treats. The job has helped my french but I'm still useless if the customer wants to chat or create small talk.

"JEN!" Imogen calls from the back as the bell on the door tolls when I stride in.

"Yes Imogen?" I call sweetly, my bag making a thunk as I place it on the counter top. I know full well what she'll ask, because she asks it every single morning.

"How's Ginny and Charles?" Her head pops up around the staff back door and her face is wide with a grin.

"I don't know yet, but I'll ask for you okay?" Sighing, I turn to grab my apron and wrap the strings around my torso. Out of the corner of my eyes I see her turn to leave then gasp as if  remembering something, coming into full view.

"Oh my god, I forgot to tell you who I met yesterday morning!" she squeals.

"Was it Jason?" Her crush usually comes around ever so often and leaves a very smiley Imogen in his wake.

"No, better!"

I fake a gasp "Who could be better than Jason." I pivot to grab my coffee which I brought in with me, taking a sip.

"Lando Norris!"

The name almost makes me spit out my drink but I quickly recover, knowing Imogen will want a reaction out of me. What the hell is he doing down by the docks and not up in his private mansion located in Fontvieille?

"Ahhh, Lovely" I turn around slowly.

"Jen," she comes fully into view, wearing a wide grin. "Do you know who Lando Norris is?"

"Yea, I see drivers all the time in Monaco." I lie. The only other driver I've seen apart from Charles and Lando is Carlos, Pierre and Max, thanks to Charles.

"Oh right, well anyway he came in after his run and he was so sweet and was, like, flirting with me the entire time I was making his coffee!" her hands flap around as she describes him.

"He was sweet?" I say confused, tilting my head.

"Yea he was! Do you think he wouldn't be?"

"No, just he seems like an arse. From F1 coverage of course."

"Okay...well I think he likes me so call me if he comes in again." she shuffles away and disappears around the staff door, leaving me to set up for opening.

"Alight."

The day goes by fast with streams of people flowing in and my cheeks hurt from the amount of times I've smiled. The Cafe closes at 7 pm with me leaving the buliding 30 mintues afterwards. I say goodbye to Imogen and my boss Marge, then make the 15 minute walk home before Ginny calls me when I'm throwing a pizza into the oven.

"Hi Jen!"

Ginny tanned face pops into view as I prop my phone up against the kettle.

"Hello hun!" I rest my face on my palms, placing them on the counter to bring my face to her eye level. "How was your day?"

"So good, we went to the beach and yacht again and I have the most embarrassing video of Charles falling off the back of the boat." she cackles

I hear Charles start to argue in the back of her screen. "Mon amour, you pushed me off!"

"Non, je n'étais pas cherie, I was no where near you!" her head swivels to look at him. I can see her smile growing as he strides up to her and plants a kiss on her lips, whispering something in her ear that makes her giggle and smile even wider.

"Get a room you two!" I laugh.

"We were going to but then you appeared, Jen." Charles voice is muffled by Ginny's shoulder and she smiles back at me.

"Oh sorry should I call back later?"

"No, no, I haven't seen your face in two days!" Ginny softly pushes Charles away and he groans, going back to what ever he was doing before he walked over.

"Haha, two days what an entirety." The timer on my phone pings out, the door of the oven creaks as I crank it open. "Pizza is ready." I whisper to myself.

"Pardon?" Ginny's voice crackles through my phone.

"Nothing just talking to myself."

"Ahhh right. I forgot you did that." She giggles and yells to Charles. "Babe!"

"Oui ma cherie." his voice calls back.

"What are we doing tomorrow?"

"I don't know yet miel, what do you want to do?"

"I don't know, I'll think of something." her head turns back to me and she smiles.

"The beach again?" I question, "And the yacht."

Her face lights up again and glances down at her fingers, twirling them together. "You never know."

The rest of the call is uneventful, with her talking about the fancy restaurants they dinned at and  how Charles got noticed by fans, with one wanting a picture with Ginny. I finish my pizza and only talk about my boring job and how Imogen met Lando.

"She met Lando?" Ginny seems very interested now, leaning forward closer to the phone.

"Yea, she said he was flirting with her"

"Well sorry for Imogen but, she is not his type. Far from it." she scoffs. Imogen has almost white striaght blond hair and blue eyes. Apparently not his type.

"Really?" I lean forward now intrigued.

"Yea, his type is you, but apparently you don't like him."

I snort. "Because he's annoying." My voice low as I mutter.

"Jen, he's not that bad, his family life and his dating life are pretty grim." she explains, "He only sleeps around and his one girlfriend wasn't the nicest person. I thought you might like him that's all."

"You thought...I might like a guy who, who... sleeps around?" My sentence is in fragments confused by her statement.

"Jennifer, he's an okay guy if you forget about his dating life." she justifies.

"Do you have evidence for that point?" I counter.

"No...but-"

"Okay then, end of conversation."

"Jesus Jen, you're so petty sometimes." she throws her hands in the air then lets out of breath of air.

"Yep, I am. You love me though."

"Sure, sure." I can see her rolling her eyes.

"Okay, I should probably go before Charles kicks off at me." Right on cue I hear Charles shout something out.

"Mon amour, que veux-tu pour le dîner ?" [my love, what do you want for dinner?

Her head turns to the sound of his voice. "Tout ce que vous voulez, rouge." [what ever you want, red] she responds back.

"I'll let you go." My face turns to the clock and I see the time hanging above the entry door to the kitchen. 8:30 pm. Time to go to bed for an early run tomorrow morning.

"Alright, speak soon." her hand raises to end the call.

"Have fun, bye!" I wave shortly to her and smile at Charles coming up behind Ginny.

"Love you, bye!" she face disappears as Charles engulfs her in a backwards hug.

I place my phone on charge and shuffle lightly to my bathroom to do my skin care and brush my teeth before toppling on to my mattress face first, falling asleep in 5 mintues.
