The red light disappeared and everything becomes louder again. I peered up from looking down to see the guy in the back glaring at me curiously.
"Anything else?" The guy currently holding the camera asked.
"Nope, you guys can go." Lando huffed out, taking his hand off my leg to run throw his hair, consequently making it stick up in all directions. Now that I could see him clearly, he looked exhausted. Circles under his eye and shoulders slumped when the camera switched off. "Jon," The guy sitting in the back raised his head slowly from typing away on his phone. "Does Charlotte want me for anything else?"
"Nah mate, you're free to go." Jon stood up from the chair I was previously sitting on. "Nice to meet you Jen." He commented, nodding at me before disappearing out the door. I don't get any time to respond as the other two followed suit, with the door finally shutting leaving us alone.
"Do you want me to-" I pointed to the door, signalling that I could leave.
"No, don't leave." He grounds out, standing up to grab his water bottle. His race suit was loosely tied around his waist and looked in danger of falling off at any moment. He let out a sigh and sits down heavily in his chair. "How are you?" His blue eyes meet mine and I felt like crying. They're downcast, half closed with exhaustion and he pulled them away from mine.
"Lando, you should probably get back to your hotel room." I whispered out as he shakes his head furiously.
"No, no, I have meeting with somebody in," His arm slowly raises to check his watch. "Ah fuck, half an hour." His arm drops down, back on to the chair's. He plops his water bottle down on the ground beside him.
I fiddled my fingers together and didn't meet his eye. The room had suddenly become a lot cooler and my skin reflected that.
"You look amazing Jenny." He whispered out as I peered up to see him smiling softly through the tiredness. The comment makes me smile under my breath and my pulse speeds up.
"You look just like you got pole in your home race." I smiled back, avoiding the statement. He purses his lips together happily, giving me a goofy thumbs up.
"I did, didn't I." He throws his hands in the air and lest out a yell. "AH, I DID IT!" His head is tipped back in enjoyment and his lips parted in a smile. I laugh in response and scrunch my nose at his celebration. A bang comes from a wall somewhere making me almost jump out of my skin. One of my hands flys to my chest. Lando doesn't move.
"Mate, be quiet." A muffled yell comes out of the wall on my side. Lando lets out a laugh, hands drops to the chairs arms to stand up.
"Shut up Oscar!" Pushing on the chairs arms, he launches himself up and nods to the door, signalling me to follow him. I do, pulling my dress down as it rides up a tiny bit. Lando throws the door open, it banging slightly on the wall. "Oscar, I'm coming in so you and Lily better not be in a compromising situation!"
Lando hikes up his falling down race suit while banging on the door, situated beside his own driver room. "Big word, compromising." I mutter under my breath as I stand next to him waiting quietly for the door to open. There seems to be commotion so we wait.
"Par-don?" He splits the word into two and looks at me with a cheeky grin. He's so perfect. Wait, what? No Jen, not right now.
"Um, nothing, just talking to myself." I giggle and look down at my feet, thankful for my ballet flats and glad I didn't choice a heel today.
"Mate, your always-" the door swings open to show a tall (just taller then Lando) man with hair for days. His face is light up with a smile and he wears the same get up as Lando. "Oh hello, is this Jen?" He ask politely, pointing to me, his Australian accent coming out slightly.
