Lando

The race was impressive. If anyone told you other wise, they are wrong on so many counts. I battled a formidable component and won the first race of the season. I know the first race curse and all that but in the end, who cares? I'm still the best on the grid and most of the drivers know that, even if they won't admit it.

Max came up to me after the podium and said he was gonna have to try this season. Mate, have you forgotten I won last season as well? Probably but that didn't stop me from being my natural charming self.

Speaking of charming, I have to speak to Jenny. I have to let her know that I can't be what she wants me to be, or whatever. She's probably shit talking me to Gina right now. And who cares? Ginny knows I'm a terrible person, so its shouldn't come as a surprise to her. I stupidly got drunk one night, ran into her and told her my whole sob story, so she thinks she now knows everything about me.

What an idiot I was.

But that's a story for another time when we know each other a bit better.

I'm back in town, or Monaco if it's a town. The after party was massive. I got way too drunk and passed out, Carlos having to drag me back to mine, missing out partying with his new girlfriend. She wasn't bad, contradicting what the fans and public think. Her accent is nice.

Anywho, right now I'm making my pre run smoothie that apparently I need to learn how to make because my trainer is 'not my babysitter'. I mean I do rely on him but don't all drivers? I swear Carlos' trainer knows him better than is own mother.

The sun is shinning and I feel ecstatic as I stride into the cafe, spotting Jenny immediately. Not gonna lie she looks... nice? Her hair is down and in her natural curl, no visible makeup and only shorts and a t-shirt.

Her head is turned to the back and I hear her shouting something to Imogen behind.

"Please don't spill that!" She begs.

"I would never! Trust me!" My feet carry me forward to the counter, ready to order my coffee.

Her face immediately drops as she spots me, whipping to look at the clock. I pull my phone out to check the time as well but see a text from my trainer instead.

Jon:

If you get one more coffee, I will kill you.

It really bad for your caffeine levels, especially with the season.

He loves punctuation.

Lando:

no

We have a very special relationship.

"Hello, what can I get you." The question is said slowly.

"Coffee, black." I mutter still focused on texting Jon back.

Lando:

i love it to much

I chuckle to myself and finally look up. Her eyes catch mine and she nods.

"The regular?" She gives a small smile and I consequently feel myself start to stare. Gosh she is to nice for me. Wait, no you don't do that. Time for a witty comeback.

I smirk. "If that's what we're calling then, of course." I sweep my hands out in front of me and smile wider, leaning on the counter.

"Lovely." she turns away at the first chance, grabbing a cup from above her. The bell above the door tolls and I turn my head to see who has walked in.
