Betting on grief

2 1 2

In shadows of hope, I placed my bet,

On hearts that danced, then sought to forget.

Grief, a silent companion, whispers in the night,

As promises crumble, like petals taking flight.

I wagered on souls, now lost in the tide,

Love's gambit played, but they chose to hide.
