THE WOODEN DOOR OF THE LOCKWOOD MANSION SWUNG OPEN SMOOTHLY. Blair, Mason and Tyler stumbled in, their chests heaving after their morning run.
Blair with her ponytail in a mess, sighed in relief. "I don't know about you guys, but that run felt like a marathon."
Mason, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand, smirked. "Speak for yourself. I'm just getting started."
Tyler interrupted. "Before we collapse from exhaustion, guess what? There's a carnival happening tonight, we should all go."
Blair shot Mason a pleading look, "Totally! Mason and I are in, right?" She pleaded and for her surprise it barely took him any convincing.
"Sure, sounds fun." Mason simply agreed, Blair's eyebrows raised in surprise and she smiled at her cousin.
"Great, I'll see you guys later. I'm gonna catch some rest before tonight, don't wanna be too tired to enjoy the carnival." Tyler hit Mason's arm playfully, passing by him.
As Tyler disappeared up the staircase, Blair turned to Mason, "Am I dreaming or is the Mason Lockwood willing to have fun for once in his life?" Blair teased.
"Well, brace yourself. This might be the plot twist of the century." Mason chuckled, ruffling Blair's already messy hair.
Blair let her ponytail fall lose as she fixed her messy hair, her eyes lingering on Mason when she began recounting the memories from last night. "Okay, so, don't freak out. Last night, I may have had a slightly tipsy conversation with a guy on the porch."
"Define guy." Mason said slowly.
Blair waved her hand. "Dark hair, pretty blue eyes, black-on-black outfit. Probably allergic to color. Carol mentioned his name... Damon, I think?"
Mason froze. "Damon Salvatore?"
"Yeah!" Blair pointed. "That's it. Damon Salvatore."
Mason set his mug down with a little too much force. "And you talked to him?"
"Relax. I didn't tell him anything, if that's what you're worried about. We just talked. Casually."
Mason looked like he was about to launch into a full protective dad monologue.
Blair continued quickly, "He seemed normal. Ish? I mean, yeah, he gave off that whole mysterious energy, but honestly? We had a nice talk."
