THE TIRES HUMMED AGAINST THE FAMILIAR PAVEMENT THAT UNFOLDED BEDORE BLAIR AND MASON.

The car glided into Mystic Falls, and Blair couldn't shake the flood of memories that greeted her after five years away.

Family gatherings, laughter, and that one fateful night when she triggered her werewolf curse —it all rushed back.

As they approached the Lockwood mansion, Mason's voice broke through her reverie. "We're here." He said, casting a supportive glance her way. "You okay?"

"I'm holding up." Blair managed a soft smile, "Like a slightly dented but still resilient superhero action figure. Let's just go give your brother's send-off the grand, heartwarming spectacle it deserves."

Mason chuckled and got out of the car first, spotting Tyler Lockwood standing at the porch of the mansion. He walked up the stairs to the door,

"So the black sheep returns." Tyler spoke crossing his arms.

"Tyler?" Mason recalled, "Yeah." Tyler nodded, "What happened to you? In my mind you're still twevle years old."

"Well, that is only two years older since you last saw me, uncle Mason." Tyler scolded.

"Come here." Mason pulled him in a hug.

"Where's my hug?" Blair chimmed in as she walked up the stairs to the porch.

"Blair?" Tyler pulled away from Mason and chuckled with a mixture of surprise and amusement, he immediatelly hugged Blair.

"You're back? I never thought I'd see you again." He pulled away and smiled at the girl.

"Surprise! I'm back, unfortunately under these circumstances." Blair grinned, adding a touch of humor to the depressing occasion.

"Nah, you came back for Dad's farewell. I'd say that is dedication." Tyler chuckled, then put his arm around her.

Tyler and Blair were very close, before Blair left Mystic Falls five years ago. When Tyler had no friends Blair would always come over and hang out with him. They used to know everything about each other. Well at least before Blair suddenly left the town.

They all shared a brief laugh, including Mason, finding comfort in the unexpected reunion.

"Come on in guys, I'll catch up with you later, alright?" Tyler leaded them in and continued greeting the rest of the guests.
