Culprit

James yelled, causing alarm and immediately madam pomfrey, another student, and a few staff to barge in.

They say the poison in the hooded figures hand and the different color infiltrating the blood fuser thingy bag.

The hooded figure then jumped out then window, trying to get away, but Filch (I think that's how it's spelled) grabbed the hooded figure before they could escape.

Madam Pomfrey, quickly detached the blood packet and replaced it with a new one so Severus was safe.

"Unveil his person Filch." Dumbledore said, pointing at the hooded person.

Filch unveiled the person and there they saw,

"Mary!?" James shouted, Mary was there, held by the hood by Filch, she flinched at James's shout, obviously terrified on what might happen next.

"Mary, may you tell us why you did this." Dumbledore said calmly.

Mary shakes her head no and looked down, it was obvious she would not be answering any questions willingly.

Dumbledore sighed, he whispered something that James could not hear to Slughorn, and the potions professor hurried off.

"So you won't tell us anything willingly?" Dumbledore said, Mary shakes her head rapidly.

Slughorn then entered with a small bottle of liquid, veritaserum.

They forced Mary to drink it, Mary soon began to struggle way more, even to the point where she was crying and yelling.

"Mary why did you do this?" Asked Dumbledore.

Mary immediately froze up and the answer immediately came out in a monotone voice.

"The leader told me to or he would kill me."

"Why did he tell you to do that."

"He did not tell me himself but I assume that since Mulciber got thrown in Azkaban for trying to recruit and I guess kill Severus, the leader knew Severus knew secrets about our secret organization so he sent me to make sure he couldn't."

Then, Madam Pomfrey whispered something to Dumbledore. He raised an eyebrow.

"And why wasn't the poison enough to kill him?"

"I persuaded him that instead of killing him, to give him a poison that wouldn't kill him, but making him forget absolutely everything."

Confusion was evident across the room.

"And why did you do that."

"Because I was inlove with him."

Everyone was shocked, except James of course, he already knew, and his blood was boiling.

"I thought you fell out of love with him after..." James said with gritted teeth, not finishing his question, but Mary knew what he meant of course

"After you took him from me?" Mary spat, glaring at James, just fighting the Veritaserum enough to do so. "I wanted the memory loss poison to happen not just to keep him from dying, but for him to forget you! I wanted to then tell him we were secretly lovers that no one knew about and say stuff about you so he wouldn't go near you."

"He not yours to be taken from." James snarled.

"The aurors are here, we shall take her down."

"Of course." Dumbledore said.

After a few moments after Mary left James calmed down, only to be alerted by another mishap.

"Headmaster, some of the poison still got to mister Snape so he might have lost some memories." Pomfrey said, James was appalled by the news, while Dumbledore still seemed calm.

"Well, couldn't have been too much, right?"
