Ponyboy's P.O.V.

I held onto the dashboard as we sped down the gravel road. "This isn't safe!" I yelled. "Come on. Loosen up Pony!" Moo screamed.

I flew forward as she stopped suddenly. "Are you trying to kill me?" I asked. She was looking out the window sadly.

"Moo? You okay?" I asked. She looked back at me and I saw tears threatened to spill over. "I need a moment." She said softly.

"Is that your house?" I asked. She nodded and climbed out of the car.

I followed her to the fenced in yard. She hopped it and I was on her heels.

I heard a whine and saw a young dog run out. Her face brightened as she kneeled down to pet it.

"Hey there Buddy." She said sweetly. He whined and licked her hands. "Who's this?" I asked, kneeling next to her.

"This is my dog, Buddy. I took care of him." She said. I looked at her and grabbed her hand.

"What would happen if we took him?" I asked. "I don't know. It's my mom and dad's last dog. It's probably the only thing that makes them happy." She said.

I frowned and looked at the big looking house. I stood up and began walking to the doors.

"What are you doing?" Moo called. "I'm gonna talk some sense into your parents." I said.

I found the door was unlocked and I walked into the house with Moo right behind me.

A man and woman walked into the room we were standing in and stopped.

"Isabelle?" The woman asked. Moo nodded and held onto my arm.

"Who's this?" She asked. "My name's Ponyboy. Yours?" I said.

"My name is Rosette and this is my husband, Willfred." Rosette said. I nodded and walked closer to them. Moo never let go of me.

I saw Willfred's eyes widen as he saw his daughter's stomach. "What the hell?" He asked.

I looked back at Moo and saw fear and panic in her eyes. She looked up at me and I grabbed her hand.

"Dammit you little slut. This is what you get when you sleep around with shitty men!" Her father bellowed.

I looked back at him and glared. "Don't you ever call her that again." I said. "What? A slut. Why can't I? She's one and I know she is now." He said.

"Ponyboy isn't a shitty guy, daddy. He's real nice and he takes care of me." Moo whispered.

Her father stared and her. I saw her mother was fuming and was about to say something.

"Isabelle. Get over here you little whore." Rosette said sternly. Moo moved her feet, but I tightened my grip on her hand.

She looked up at me, her eyes filled with panic. "Why would you talk to your daughter like that?" I asked.

"Because she's a piece of shit. She was a mistake that shouldn't have happened." Her father said.

I felt anger rising up in me as he said that. "She's your daughter!" I yelled.

"Pony." Moo whispered. I looked down at her and she grabbed onto me. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. I looked back at her parents and they looked surprised.

Suddenly her dad smiled. "You're at Greaser, aren't you?" He asked. "Yeah. What's it matter to you?" I said.

"I once heard that Greaser are white trash with long greasy hair." He said.

I felt myself paling. I thought of Bob and how he said that before nearly killing me.

"Pony? You okay?" Moo asked. "I'm fine Moo." I said.

"Moo!?" Her mother snorted. "My brother came up with it." I said. "He must be mentally retarded." She said.

That's when I lost it. I let go of Moo and walked up to them.

"You may talk trash about me or Moo and I'll hate it and I won't hurt you because I'll be there for her, but don't you dare go after my brother! He has more problems than you think! The love of his life got pregnant with some one else and left him and then me and my other brother played tug of war with him!" I screamed.

I grabbed Moo's hand and dragged her out of the house and to the car.
