"But we said we wouldn't tell anyone,"

Jimin stumbled over his own words as he was getting progressively quieter and vulnerable. He completely froze.
Immediately, Jeongguk stepped closer and subconsciously reached out for Jimin's forearm in an attempt to comfort the smaller as he clarified in a soft tone,
"I didn't tell him, I only figured it out just now that he knows"

"How did you- how?"
Jimin sighed in defeat, shoulders slumping.

"I saw you cuddling in bed. It didn't look exactly friendly and I started connecting the dots and now we're here ,"
Taehyung explained, leaving out the part where Jeongguk had indirectly told him about them.

"And when was this?"
Jimin asked, bewildered.

"The first time you came over to our apartment"

The blonde looked utterly confused as he meant with wide eyes,
"But I thought-"

"Yeah, it was indeed smart that you left that note on my nightstand. But I saw your shoes at the entrance before leaving,"
Taehyung spoke up, finishing his brother's thought.

"Fuck,"
Jeongguk cursed under his breath.

As a feeling of guilt had overcame Jimin, his gaze wandered to his feet. He asked Taehyung warily,
"Are you mad?"

His brother, on the other hand, looked rather calm and relaxed when he simply responded,
"Mad? No. I'm a bit disappointed though because you felt the need to hide it from me like the world would end if i ever found out"

"I'm sorry Tae, we didn't want to make it more awkward or complicated than it already is,"
Jimin tried to justify himself while avoiding looking at Jeongguk who was standing right beside him. The other scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Hey, I'm fine with it as long as I don't have to hear it,"
Taehyung joked -not really- to resolve the tension. However, the tension never really left. There had always been tension when Jimin and Jeongguk were in the same room.

"Tae!"
Jimin whined and hid his face behind his hands. He could feel his cheeks heat up.

"What? I don't wanna hear my brother and my best friend while they're at it,"
Taehyung bluntly defended himself, raising his hands as if he was surrendering.

"He has a point,"
Jeongguk agreed nonchalantly while Jimin was still in disbelief.

"Oh my god, I'm leaving,"
Jimin said in exasperation as he was heading out of the kitchen.

"Let's go back too before the others might think something's wrong,"
he paused for a second before realizing he had missed an important detail before continuing,
"Oh, and please don't tell them. At least not yet. Because I haven't even figured out where  I stand with him"

Taehyung nodded reassuringly before leading them back to the dinner table.

"You're leaving?"
Jeongguk asked as his brows furrowed, expression puzzled. Namjoon was leaning against the doorframe of Jeongguk's room after having grabbed his bag and his coat, car key in his one hand.

"Yeah, I only drank one beer and there's no way I'm sleeping in the same room as you two"

"Hey!"
his younger brother complained however, he knew that Namjoon was just teasing. After a few seconds of the two brothers grinning at each other, Namjoon's expression got more serious.
"Jeongguk"

"Hm?"

"You know what you're doing."

Jeongguk nodded in response.

"Just don't hurt him or get hurt,"
Namjoon sighed before a lopsided grin creeped up his face.

"I'm not planning to,"
Jeongguk answered honestly. His intentions were clear to him now. There was no going back for him.

"Good. See you,"
Namjoon bid his goodbye and left after hearing his brother's 'bye'.

"Gguk,"
Jimin called when he entered his room, coming back from the bathroom after washing up.

"God, you're drunk,"
Jeongguk stated with a smitten smile on his face. It felt like everything Jimin did was adorable to him.

"Only tipsy. And you're too, don't lie,"
Jimin giggled as he caressed Jeongguk's locks at the back of his head. They weren't as long as before since he had them cut short after starting university but it was still fun and calming to play with them.

"Let's get you to bed, hm?"
Jeongguk suggested, even though he was the one who's eyelids kept falling shut.

"But wait, where's Namjoon?"
Jimin asked in confusion as he considered the absence of the older guy.

"He left, considered it wouldn't be that enjoyable to sleep with us in the same room,"
Jeongguk explained in an amused way before continuing, "But well, it doesn't matter anymore since Taehyung knows and Namjoon probably figured it out too by now"

"Oh, come on, it's not like we would do anything in front of him,"
Jimin complained while walking to the spacious bed, dragging Jeongguk along by his sleeve. Jeongguk just chuckled because yes, he thought that Jimin was being incredibly cute. If someone had told him that it would be this way four months ago, he would've laughed in their face.

He was a bit worried that Taehyung was pissed, even though he said he isn't but he hoped his best friend would be alright with it eventually.
Nevertheless, Jeongguk shook his head to get rid of his thoughts, turning of the lights and slipping underneath the covers where he was greeted by cozy warmth and the person he wanted to hold every hour, every minute, every second of his life.

It was too late to not fall for Park Jimin and Jeongguk was under his spell. Yet, he would rather suppress his feelings he finally admitted to himself than lose what they have right now.

Jeongguk, indeed, was a lost case.
