"So you're telling me that this guy just shows up in your English class, and he looks familiar but you have no idea who he is" I nodded before chugging the last of my soda. "So what are you so frustrated about?" Rian put his sandwich to his mouth and took a bite. "I need to know who he is!" He took a moment to chew his sandwich. "But why?" I was becoming so flustered with this whole thing. "I don't know!" Rian but his lip and scratched at his cleanly shaven head. "Can you point him out? Is he in the cafeteria?" My eyes searched the cafeteria for him. A flash of blond passed my sight. My head shot over toward it and I saw the guy.

"Him! That's him!" I grabbed his hand and shook Rian wildly. "Him?" I nodded vigorously. Rian chuckled. "How do you not know who that is? That is Jack Barakat. He's probably the most popular guy in the grade. No the school. Even seniors look up to that guy" I gazed toward him and watched him at his table. He sat with all the other popular guys or tough muscular guys. "Jack Barak- Oh my god"

"Weren't you guys best friends before?"

"Like 2 years ago. He probably doesn't even remember my name let alone who I am in general" Rian scoffed. "Yeah right!" The two of us stood up and threw out the trash we had from lunch. Just as I was about to sit down he pushed me over towards his table. "Go say hi!" My eyes widened in shock. I mouthed "no" to him, but he shooed me away. When I turned around I realized I was right in front of his table. Everyone stared at me blankly.

"H-hi Jack" I could feel all of their eyes on me. "What do you want Gayskarth?" Matthew hissed. "Nothing I just-" I was cut off by Jack. He was replying to me oh my god. "Matt shut the fuck up" He leaned in examining me. "Do I know you?" The guys at the table snickered. I froze. Does he remember me or should I say no? What do I do. I began to panic. "Uh we used to be bes- (No don't use that word!) we were friends back in middle school" Jack nodded and smiled. "Oh yeah, I think I remember you. A... Arthur right?" Well he got the A part. "Alex" Please let my name remind you of who I am. "That's right. Well it's great talking to you again, Alex" This was getting awkward.

I stood there for another 30 seconds not sure what to do. Thank god Rian came along to save me. "Alex! Hey! Come help me with my homework!" He grabbed my arm and dragged me back to our table.

"So? How did it go?"

"He forgot my name and I'm pretty sure he lied and said he remembered who I was so I wouldn't be disappointed"

"Dude, he didn't forget who you were. I've seen old friends of his ask if they remembered who they were and he straight up said "I don't even know you man" He soooo remembers you!" Rian was releasing his inner teenage girl. He had this huge smile across his face, and his eyes were filled with excitement. "Whatever, I felt like a complete idiot back there" He shook his head. "You were fine! Now seriously I need help with my homework"
