Tutoring had gone what seemed horribly. Jack doesn't listen and he doesn't give a single fuck about his grades. I wanted to punch him in the face, but I couldn't. He was kinda nice. Today the library is closed for organizing and all that stuff, so we have to move our session to my house. This was going to be really awkward.
4:15
I sat in my room, flipping through the pages of my trigonometry book, that is until the door bell rang. Peeking out my window I noticed Jack standing at my door. I panicked "I'll get it!" I screamed running down the stairs before remembering I was the only one home. Opening the front door, I quickly escorted Jack upstairs, and into my bedroom. We sat across from each other on my bed, and I helped him with his work.
In the middle of teaching him about Shakespeare he grabbed my arm. "What are these?" He asked, tracing the scars that covered my arms. "Nothing I used to cut.., but I stopped" I replied. Jack nodded and looked down at his book and then back up at me. "Could you get me a glass of water please?" He asked before I hesitantly stood. Before I could even take my fourth step Jack had his arm around my waist, and pulled me in. "What are you doing?!" He pulled up my shirt a little, revealing more scars covering my hips. They were still somewhat "fresh". "Alex why?" He placed his hand over them, a sharp pain ran through my nerves and I winced. "That's none of your business" I pulled away from his grasp and pulled my shirt down, further than it should be stretched out of embarrassment.
"Can I go get your water now? Or were you using that as an excuse to see my hips?"
He laughed and motioned me back over to the bed where we sat for another hour and a half. I tried explaining to him the concept of Hamlet, but he just doesn't listen. I tried.
The next day I ran into Jack in the hallway. "Hey Alex, I'll see you later for tutoring right?" I nodded, looking up at him. The raven haired boy peered behind him and liked at me, almost panicked. "Please just pretend you were hurt or something. I'm not going to hit you, but if the others think I did they'll put me off the hook" I stood there, shocked at what he had just said to me. Is Jack really not who everyone says he is? Quickly, he brought his fist around pretending to punch me in the stomach. I leaned over, holding my gut and trembling. Why I just did that for him, I honestly do not know.
