Chapter 7: A Wish for a New Life

Princess Helen and Eric were celebrating their engagement when suddenly, the door burst open and some soldiers came walking into Eric's house.

"What is going on?! You have no right to be here! We have not committed any crime!" Patrick yelled.

"We have every right to be here! You have kidnapped Princess Helen!" Loki replied angrily as he walked into the house.

"We did not kidnap any princess!" Linda replied angrily. "I am Princess Helen. I did not mean to lie to you all. I just wanted to live a normal life," Princess Helen explained.

"We came to take you home, Princess Helen!" Loki ordered.

"I'm not going anywhere with you. Tell my father I don't want to be a princess anymore," Princess Helen replied angrily.

Loki decided to leave Eric's house since he didn't want to force Princess Helen to come with him. Along with his soldiers, Loki left the place and started thinking about his return to France. He didn't really care about being the king of England because he was already the king of France.

Loki has returned to the castle, but Princess Helen is nowhere to be seen. When King Charles walks into the main hall of the castle, he immediately demands to know where his daughter is. He yells at Loki, who responds angrily, saying that he doesn't work for the king and doesn't appreciate being spoken to in that way. King Charles apologizes and asks calmly why his daughter is not with Loki.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness, but your daughter doesn't want to return to the kingdom. She's engaged to a man named Eric Randall and desires a normal life outside of royalty," Loki explained, his tone tinged with frustration.

King Charles was quick to retort, "But Princess Helen is betrothed to Prince Nicholas! I must find a way to remove this man from her life."

In response, Loki advised, "For now, let us pretend to be pleased for her. Rest assured, I'll come up with a plan to eliminate this man."

"Eric, I understand that you are upset with me. I didn't tell you that I was a princess because I didn't want to continue being one," Princess Helen explained. "I'm not angry with you. I understand that you had your reasons for not telling me," Eric replied.

"I am furious with you! You have put our family in danger! Loki has been manipulating your dad, just like he manipulated King Howard. Loki killed my brother, Paul!" an angry Linda exclaimed.

"Mom, you can't blame Helen for what Loki has done. Why did Loki kill Uncle Paul?" Eric asked.

"I don't blame Helen for what Loki has done, but having her around us is too risky! Loki killed your uncle because he is a monster," Linda replied, still furious.

"Eric, you promised that you would stay away from the castle!" Patrick exclaimed, his voice full of anger.

"I have not gone to the castle," Eric protested.

"Your mother is right about Princess Helen. She needs to return to the castle!" Patrick commanded.

"I love Helen, and I am going to marry her!" Eric replied, his tone equally angry.

"I want you to leave. I will not have you put this family in danger!" Patrick told Eric, his anger growing.

"I am leaving too!" Lucy declared, her voice full of frustration.

"You are not going anywhere!" Patrick retorted, his anger still evident.

"I am an adult, and I have the right to do what I want! I do not want to live with a coward!" Lucy replied, her voice rising as she stormed off to pack.
