The assassin, who had also been a clone, committed suicide when Captain Rex and Riyo Chuchi attempted to learn information from him.
It was also a good thing for Adla that the assassin did not follow up to make sure she was dead.
Crosshair had her rushed to a hospital when more guards showed up after she was shot. Being a senator, Adla was seen immediately. Crosshair was lucky he pulled the woman toward him, otherwise the shot would have gone straight through her heart. The shot was a hairline away from hitting bullseye on something important and terminal. So, Adla woke up after a few hours with a bandage, some bacta, and the promises of a full recovery before she was once again on her way.
Crosshair almost had an aneurysm when she hopped off the medical bed and made her way to the exit. She tried to reassure the soldier that her wound was not life threatening. She would be fine, she just had to take it easy.
"That shot was meant to kill you," he hissed icily at her, "This was more than a warning, Klenn."
He had forced her on bedrest for a few days.
Riyo contacted her about what happened with Slip. She told her how Captain Rex came in just in time to save her. She had also said that the Captain contacted a group of rogue clones to help investigate and retrieve information.
Although she was practically healed, Adla still had to wear a bandage around her shoulder and Crosshair would not let her out of his sight. He constantly checked the skyline and rooftop for any potential threats. He had done it before, but he had now taken it to an extreme.
Adla asked Riyo for the coordinates of the meeting between her and the rogue clones. When supplied with the information, Adla tasked Crosshair with running some errands for her, since she had been bedridden for a few days and all of that. He was not happy to find the long list that awaited him.
She waited a few minutes after he left to make sure he wouldn't come back. Then, she left for the meeting in a hangar on one of the lower levels of Coruscant.
She heard a ship winding down by the time she made it to the rendezvous point. She heard introductions taking place so she must have arrived right on time.
"These are the special clones I told you about," Rex's voice echoed his introduction to Riyo.
"Hello," echoed Omega's young voice.
"We've brought the whole gang for this, I see," Adla made her presence known.
Omega brightened, "Addie!" The young girl plowed right into the senator's stomach and wrapped her arms around her waist.
Adla hugged her back and whispered to the top of her hair, "Hello, young one."
"Adla!" Riyo exclaimed, surprised. She had not seen the Naboo senator in days, and only heard from her for the meeting. "Where have you been?" She gasped once she saw the bandage peek out from her sleeve. "Were you hurt?!"
Adla gave a tight smile and fixed her sleeve. "No need to worry or fuss over this right now. I am completely fine. I am here for your incident from a few days ago." She then turned to the Captain, who looked worried for her, along with the rest of Clone Force 99.
"Are you okay?" Omega's small voice asked from below her. The tiny arms wrapped around her waist tightened ever so slightly.
"Of course, dear," Adla gently smiled down at the girl and brushed some of her hair out of her face. "It was just a small blaster wound."
Why did she think that was a good thing to say? Perhaps she thought the clones would nod and say, yeah, been there done that. Well, it was apparently the wrong thing to say as everyone's look became horrified and a few spoke over each other to voice their concerns and demand to know what happened.
