CHAPTER FIVE: dig dug
It was the next day, colder than the others. you sit down in a spacious room after paying keith only a dollarto get him to bring Andre to the room. You paced around the room nervously, then the door opens.
Andre sees that it's you and squinted his eyes towards you, Andre walks past keith who closes the door behind Andre who walks in.
"What the hell is this bullshit, nosy?" Andre asks while scoffing. he was wearing different clothing today. a sweater with some black pants and black vans.
"I just needed a safe and quiet place so no one would hear us." You answered. "A safe place? are you some type of spy or somethin'?" Andre replies.
"Listen- I'm gonna tell you the truth. the truth about everything. about everything that happened last year." You explained. "but if anyone finds out, well I can't promise you won't be arrested. possibly. killed too."
Andre sighs, "Killed?"
"All I need to know is; will you take the risk?" You asked as you extended your hand for Andre to shake.
"Oh my fu...this is stupid." Andre says while rolling his eyes. your tone then changes into a stern one, "Will you take the risk, Andre?" You ask once again.
Andre suddenly wraps his hand around yours, shaking it.
"Fine. I'll take it." he says. Andre sits down on the chair from across you. then you sat down as well, facing Andre.
"Last year..will didn't get lost in the woods." You say, "he got lost somewhere else."
MINUTES LATER. . .
"And that's the last we ever saw of her. to me, she was like my best friend. I promised to give her a dictionary." You explained, "I honestly can't believe it's been that long. feels like yesterday if I'm honest."
"I bet." Andre hummed, "woah." he rubs a hand through his hair while shaking his head.
"Crazy right?" You say while scratching the back of your neck.
Andre nods, "It is crazy, but...l also really enjoyed the story telling." he says.
"Enjoyed it?" You repeated with a confused tone. "I mean-people told me worse shit than that, but this one was creative." Andre replied. ".'creative'?" You say once more while furrowed eyebrows.
"Seriously, [name], come on? how gullible and dumb do you think I am?" Andre said in reply.
"Andre- why would I make this up?" You asked confusedly, "To impress me or sumthin'? I don't know. or you really may just be insane." Andre answers.
"I tell you all of this, all this top secret government shit and this is the response I get? seriously?" You say while standing up angrily, "I'm risking my life for you by telling you all this."
Andre laughs, "Risking your life? [name] you chose to tell me I didn't ask."
You fumed and wanted to throw a book directly in his face, "Are you seriously laughing..?" Andre stands up and walks over to the door, opening it.
"Where are you going?" You asked. "The bedtime story's over isn't it? I'm gonna go play some games now." Andre says and you just watch as he leaves.
You quickly follow right after him while scoffing, "you're this close to me socking you in the face! I told you the truth. what more do you want?"
"I wanted to be in your party, not part of some sick ass joke." Andre replies while crossing his arms.
"Andre, I'm not joking okay?" You say while stepping forward. "It was an great story. alright? you get bonus points for that." Andre says and walks away towards a machine.
'''Friends don't lie' we never lie." You stated. Andre turns to you with furrowed eyebrows, "Is that right?" Andre hums before facing away from you.
He threw a coin aggressively into the machine, "Explain this then: since 'friends don't lie'" the machine lights up.
"I'm just protecting you Andre. that's all." You say with a small frown. Andre turns to you, "From what? huh? The government? the little Hawkins lab baddies?" he says.
"Andre," you look around to see some people eyeing you weirdly, "Or the demogorgon from the upside down? Hm? even dart who may be a demogorgon?" he said.
"Andre, l'm serious, shut up!" You exclaimed quietly.
"Oh, no, no! you know what it is? It was Eleven. the girl who somehow has Telek-" you quickly clamp a hand over Andre's mouth.
"Stop talking." You say in a whisper, a little tiny hint of fear in your eyes. Andre grabs your hand softly and removes it from his mouth, "you're going to get us killed. do you understand?"
"You being for real?" Andre asks in a low whisper. you nod slowly, "I wish I was joking. I really wish I was."
Andre stares at you for a minute before signing, "Prove it then." he says.
"I can't." You say while shaking your head slightly.
"So I'm just supposed to trust you?" Andre asks.
"Yes." You nodded in reply. Andre glances at the entrance of the Arcade, seeing his mom wave at him as she waited.
Andre then turns back to you, "shit I gotta head out." you follow him towards the entrance and he suddenly turns around.
Andre wraps his hand around yours and gazed into your eyes, "I'll see you tomorrow. okay?" he said a nod came from you.
"Wait! do you believe me?" You asked Andre who paused in his tracks at the entrance, "..l'm thinking about it." Andre replied before heading out the door.
