CHAPTER THREE: the monster
and the superhero

────────────────

After everything Eddie had told us, we had to make sure he was laying low so the police wouldn't find him or anyone else for that matter, when we open the door to his shed he quickly turns around, "Jesus.." I hear him mutter as he calms down— noticing it was just us.

"Delivery service." Dustin said as he held up some groceries, I smile and also held up some grocery bags— Andre also had some groceries in his hand while giving a tiny wave.

"So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news." Dustin said. "How do you prefer it?"

"Bad news first, always." Eddie replied as he continues eating out of the box of cereal, Andre sat alone as he listened to the conversation.

"Alright. Bad news." I speak. "We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with dustin's cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Also, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy."

"Like, 100% kind of convinced." Max added.

"And the good news?" Eddie asks.

"Your name hasn't gone public yet." Robin answers. "But if we found out about you, it's a matter of time before others do too. And once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you."

"Hunt the freak, right?" Eddie says.

Andre nods. "Exactly."

"Shit." Eddie mutters.

"So, before that happens, we find vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence." Dustin said.

"That's all, Dustin? That's all?" Eddie questioned while tilting his head.

"Yeah, no, that's pretty much it." Dustin replied.

"Listen, Eddie," Robin speaks. "I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we've actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a...a few times, and...and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, theirs was as more smoke-related, but bottom line is, collectively, I really feel like we got this."
