The following day, Tori arrived to school early because her mom had to go into work early and her dad had to open up the shop earlier than he had anticipated. She could have asked one of her friends to take her to school but Santana, Brittany and Quinn all have morning routines that must not be disturbed and she really didn't want to spend another 20 minutes in the car with Puckerman, especially after the last time he had offered to give her a ride to school.
Tori walked to the auditorium because it was the only quiet place that she actually enjoyed being in and not that many people even went in there so it was a perfect place for her to really show off her true talent. Not a lot of people know this, but Tori actually went into the auditorium to sing because it felt like a safe place for her.
Singing had always helped Tori get out her emotions and express herself in ways that she wasn't really able to do in front of others. When Tori didn't know what to say she sang it instead and it helped... a lot. When Tori got further into the auditorium she set down her backpack and walked up the steps of the stage and over to the piano. She then sat down on the piano bench and began to play one of her favorite songs by one of her favorite artists.
Tori I can almost see it That dream I'm dreaming But there's a voice inside my head saying You'll never reach it
Tori Every step I'm taking Every move I make feels Lost with no direction My faith is shaking
Tori But I, I gotta keep trying Gotta keep my head held high
Tori There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be an uphill battle Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose Ain't about how fast I get there Ain't about what's waiting on the other side It's the climb
Tori The struggles I'm facing The chances I'm taking Sometimes might knock me down, but No, I'm not breaking I may not know it But these are the moments that I'm gonna remember most, yeah Just gotta keep going
Tori And I, I gotta be strong Just keep pushing on, 'cause...
Tori There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be an uphill battle Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose Ain't about how fast I get there Ain't about what's waiting on the other side! It's the climb!
Tori Yeah!
Tori There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Tori Always gonna be an uphill battle Sometimes you're gonna have to lose! Ain't about how fast I get there Ain't about what's waiting on the other side! It's the climb!!! Yeah!!
Tori Keep on moving Keep climbing Keep the faith, baby!! It's all about, it's all about the climb!! Keep your faith, keep your faith!! Whoa-ooh-oh
When Tori had finished the last notes of the song and finished playing the piano, she smiled softly to herself and let out a peaceful sigh before getting up from the bench and walking down the stairs and grabbing her backpack then she left the auditorium without noticing that a certain someone was also there listening in on her quiet and private singing session.
Later that day, Tori was called into Mr. Schue's office for some reason or another. "Um, you wanted to see me Mr. Schue". Tori says, as she stands in the doorway of Mr. Schue's office.
"Uh, yes. Come on in. Have a seat". Mr. Schue said, as Tori walked into his office and sat down in one of the chairs in front of his desk setting her backpack and purse on the other chair beside her. Mr. Schue then slides a piece of paper in front of Tori, causing her to pick it up and look at it.
"What's this?" She asked him, confused.
"That is a piece of paper with the answers to a French test on it". Mr. Schue told her, "You want to tell me how long you've been selling test answers?"
"What?!" Tori asked, in shock. "I don't even take French!"
"Look, if it were up to me, we wouldn't have mandatory biweekly afternoon locker checks". He tells her.
"But I've never stolen anything in my life, Mr. Schue, I swear!" Tori exclaims, trying to defend herself. "Okay, well, that's a lie. I have stolen one thing in my life, but I really needed those Chanel sunglasses". Tori admits. "But other than that I haven't stolen a thing, I swear. It's not mine. I'll take a lie detector test if I have to. I will". Tori said, trying to negotiate.
"It wouldn't make any difference. Stealing and selling test answers is an automatic explosion. It'll go on your permanent record. Yeah. Look, you'll get kicked out of school. You'll lose your cheerleading scholarship". Mr. Schue said, as Tori shook her head and began to stress and freak out.
"Please, don't tell my parents". Tori pleaded. "Especially, my mom. She'll kill me".
Mr. Schue sighs. "Look, I know what it's like to struggle to make good life choices, and I don't want to see you throw away everything you have to offer the world. I just expected more out of you, Tori. We have two options here. I'm running detention now, so you can do six weeks after school, but that's gonna remain on your permanent record". Mr. Schue told her.
"Well, what's the other option, Mr. Schue?" Tori asked him.
